Abstract: The trunk beam is an important part of the portal crane. Due to the complexity of the structure of the trunk beam and the state under loads carried on, it is difficult to produce a detailed analysis using only the knowledge of theoretical mechanics and mechanics of materials. The deformation of the trunk beam, as well as the stress distribution of the beam was obtained with FEA method, and how to improve the design of the trunk beam was discussed in this paper.

Abstract: Computer modeling and simulation of thermal analysis of a satellite borne electric box is introduced in this paper. Simplified geometry was built and meshed to get a finite element model. Then the environmental conditions were defined, the work case was analyzed, and the influence of the parameter of a thermal contact resistance was discussed.

Abstract: With the boom of modern science and technology, computer and Internet have melted into human’s daily lives; also it has been affecting the traditional teaching modes. By means of computer and multi-media, the traditional English teaching instructions have altered dramatically. This paper mainly introduces what CAE is, the application of CAE in one of approaches to English writing instruction---process writing approach and its function on students’ writing abilities. A quasi-experimental research is designed in the quantitative part of the study including 12 weeks’ intervention. The procedures are pretest, writing instruction, posttest and data analysis. The result from this research indicates that the process approach by means of CAE in writing instruction is an effective approach to improve students’ writing interests and abilities.

Abstract: Automobile panels have the characteristics of thin material, complex shape, large structure and size and high-quality requirements on surface,so the workblank deformation is also very complicated in the process of forming, and it is vulnerable to forming defects such as wrinkling and cracking and so forth. Based on Dynaform, a method of parameterized design for automobile panels is discussed here, which includes the designs of stamping direction, addendum surface, binder surface and draw bead. The simulation and analysis on forming process of automobile panels provides a basis for completing modular surface design. Obviously, the results show that the simulation on forming process of automobile panels by Dynaform software shortens the mold development time and mold tryout cycle and lowers cost.

Abstract: Thermal design and analysis of a satellite instrument is introduced in this paper. Some methods were adopted to help heat conduct and a finite element model was built. The analysis results showed that the temperature scopes of the main structures are from 45°C to 65.8°C and all of junction temperatures of the components are lower than the derated maximum junction temperatures themselves and leave enough design margins, which match the requirements of thermal analysis.

Abstract: Because of the important influence of temperature on the process of manufacturing rubber products and in the actual production process ,the internal temperature of the product is very difficult to measure, so this paper simulated the PCP`s rubber stator injection molding process using finite element software, and detailed analysis of the temperature distribution in the case of injection molding process and injection molding after the completion of the molding, provides the theory support for the design and production process of stator improvement, to further improve the product quality and production efficiency to provide guarantee.

Abstract: Slide rails are usually fabricated by roll forming and are used in kitchenware and cabinets mostly. However the product weight of slide rails is increased because larger dimensions are required to bear larger load when they are used in dies and warehouses. International suppliers start to develop Aluminum slide rails to decrease the product weight in recent years.
The manufacturing and functional feasibility of Aluminum slide rail were discussed in this study. The Aluminum slide rail was designed according to ready-made slide rail, and the aluminum alloy was selected with required mechanical properties. The suitable extrusion die was designed and direct extrusion parameters of extrusion ratio, extrusion temperature, extrusion speed and extrusion load are also considered. The extrusion process of aluminum alloy was simulated by CAE software to check the mold and process design. The extrusion part of aluminum slide rail was carried out by extruder to verify the simulation results.

Abstract: This paper explains and demonstrates how to reduce time for preparation of 3-dimensional (3D) geometrical Computer-Aided-Engineering (CAE) model from 3D Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) data. In generally, CAE model preparation is labor intensive and takes long time. Main part of preparation work is simplification of 3D-CAD data to decrease mesh scale and without impacting the solution accuracy. The purpose of this study is to create automatic CAE model preparation technology for reduction of preparation time. In this study, automatic model preparation method is developed by using of geometrical and topological information of 3D-CAD data. Benchmark test is performed to proof the efficiency of the method.

Abstract: Many major companies are developing complete virtual factories to enable them to simulate complete manufacturing processes with the main aim to deliver high quality products but also to achieve cost improvements. The manufacturers aim to build virtual factories which will enable them to analyze and improve their production lines in any of their plants all around the world without having to go there. Education needs to go in step with this idea and prepare students for those engineering jobs. There are a number of schools and universities that are beginning to follow and have integrated virtual environment design in their curricula but there are still many school that are not. This paper outlines the attempt to integrate virtual manufacturing into virtual design curricula and enable students to interfere with this virtual world.
