Abstract: The paper describes one of the first parts of design of secondary protection using dangerous wastes, building structures (concrete or steel) – preparation of filler component. Dangerous wastes present an important ecological problem connected with their storage and disposal. Their stabilization and solidification (S/S) creates solid mass, which can be further used as a secondary raw material. This solidified mass can be used for example as a filler component for polymer-based surface protection materials. Newly developed material is supposed to be applied as secondary protection of building constructions. The aim of the research is maximal possible use of dangerous waste while preserving utility characteristics of new material. The paper describes various ways of stabilization and solidification (S/S) of dangerous wastes.

Abstract: In this Research, a ball mill procedure was used to prepare a nanopowder from a cement dust material supplied by Cement Factory for reinforcing the oil well cement through using it as a partial replacement of oil well cement class G by a weight percentage of (0.25 to 1%) and nanorod ZnO with the same percentages. The mix with a water to cement ratio was kept at 0.44. Characterizations of the structured prepared samples were done, density and compressive strength and free water. Experimental outcomes display that the generated nanopowder have a particle size of (100 nm) and that the structural properties improved significantly with the development phase of calcium silicate hydration C-S-H. Density and compressive strength significantly improved with lower free water. That makes it proper as smart cement for the oil well applications.

Abstract: The dust of cement furnace is the actual secondary result of cement industry. That, there’s more than three million tons annually aggregated in Egypt, as it representing great danger whether to man and the surrounded environment. This because such dust has harmful effect on environment and beings, especially the close areas from cement factories. That, using of any cement dust quantity considers good solution of environment pollution, which resulted from the recent industry, especially cement. In this research, it uses cement dust to glass mixtures with increased rates may reach 70% of glass composition mixture’s weight, where such rate doesn’t affect the chemical or physical properties of obtained glass, so it shall be suitable to be used in many applicable purpose in this industry.
