Abstract: Natural gas, from the environmental point of view, is the cleanest fuel after hydrogen. Widespread use of gaseous fuel is restricted by its storage problems in containers under high pressure (20-25 MPa) or liquefied gas at low temperatures (-163 °C). One of the most promising solutions to such problems (high pressure and low temperature) is to develop a vessel based on adsorption technology, designed for efficient storage of natural gas at relatively low pressures (3-3.5 MPa). Adsorbed natural gas (ANG) storage system provides reduction in compressor cost, tank manufacture cost and gas refueling cost (energy consumption of ANG is lower than that of compressed (CNG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage systems) and improves environmental safety by transferring vehicles from gasoline to natural gas. This paper presents simulation results of charging of ANG vessel under the dynamic conditions where the heat effect is controlled by the fin and tube type heat exchanger.

Abstract: In order to improve the power quality problems caused by electric vehicle charging equipment, this paper put forward the research on Application of Unified Power Quality Controller (UPQC) in the charging field. Based on the mathematical model of UPQC, current control unit with state feedback single loop PI controller and voltage control unit based on dual PI loop controller are designed. Based on the mathematical model, the design reference parameters are derived. Finally, a UPQC prototype is developed and experiment is carried out, results show that UPQC has good application prospect in the field of electric vehicle charging.

Abstract: Introduces the concept of the heat metering and charging regulation coefficient, describes its’ calculation and the procedures of regulation, also summarizes the calculate formulas. and analyzes the effect of heat transfer between adjacent units on household heat metering, as well as the influence of different floor and different position in a building, different orientation, the area of window contrast to wall, cold wind infiltrating and the natural capacity of heat preservation of surrounding structure and so on. According to the Heating Company, Heating price is 0.14 yuan/kWh. Heat cost consists of two. One is basic cost,the other is changed cost. The proper temperature being on duty is probably 7°C when there is heat transfer between adjacent units. When nobody lives in the rooms, some cost must be paid. Also introduces the concept of the metering and charging regulation coefficient, describes its calculation and procedures of regulation.

Abstract: This paper forecast the electric load of the mass electric cars connected to the electric grid in charging and discharging; considered the inventory forecast of electric vehicles; comprehensive analyzed the charge and discharge characteristics of the electric cars’ charging infrastructures and the impact factors such as users’ behaviors as well as the using frequency, which lead to different load distribution at different times. It calculated the total load of electric vehicles into the load curve and the load curve of the characteristics under different regions (industrial, commercial and residential). Concludes that the mass electric cars connected to the electricity grid will increase the peak load of power grid, and lay the foundation for the subsequent market management and optimization control.

Abstract: This paper presents the charging process procedure of Li-ion Battery pack for electric vehicle, which is implemented based on constant current and constant voltage (CC-CV) mode. All the informations regarding battery voltage level, state of charge (SOC) during charging and discharging processes, and battery temperature, is displayed on computer via battery management system (BMS). During the charging process, the BMS monitors the voltage balancing in Li-ion battery pack, as well as the cells voltage in each modules. The voltage difference between the highest voltage cell and the lowest voltage cell is very small, which validates the voltage stability and balance in battery pack during the charging and discharging processes.

Abstract: Based on the characteristics of semiconductor thermoelectric generation, this paper takes STC12C5410AD MCU as the core, and designs an intelligent lead-acid battery charging and discharging controller. It implements the intelligent switch, overload overcharge protection of charging way, and can automatically switch between power generating system and battery according to battery load circuit. It realizes the effective transformation of heat into electricity, intelligent storage and utilization.

Abstract: High penetration of electric vehicles has brought huge impact on the safe and stable operation of power grid. How to effectively improve the comprehensive utilization rate of electric vehicle charging and discharging has become the most important problem for the grid operation. In this paper, we establish the centralized station model which takes the minimal real power loss as its objective and bring variance optimization function. Using IEEE 30-bus system as simulation system, this paper uses genetic algorithm to find the best solution of the above model. The result shows that reasonable arrangement of charge and discharge plans not only smoothes the load curve, but reduces real power loss.

Abstract: With the popularization and application of electric vehicles, charging and discharging load will bring new challenges to safe and stable operation of the power grids. Charging and discharging control is becoming an important power system operation strategy as well as generation dispatch. A volume of research has been devoted to charging control (including vehicle-to-grid, so-called V2G) which can not only alleviate the adverse effects of charging load but also support the grid operation such as leveling the load and promoting the integration of renewable generation. This paper analyzes the impact of electric vehicles charging and discharging on the power system.

Abstract: The more popular of electric vehicles is, the higher the load capacity of the battery is in the power system, therefore, the charging and discharging technology is particularly important. This paper introduces several electric vehicle battery charging methods commonly used at present, describes working principle of the bidirectional DC/DC converter in detail in the battery charging and discharging process, and the bidirectional DC/DC charging and discharging control strategy. Finally, the electric vehicle battery charging and discharging simulation model is built, the validity of the electric vehicle battery charging and discharging model is verified based on control strategies mentioned herein by use of simulation.

Abstract: A marine DC uninterruptible power supply is designed. The UPS adopts PIC16C73 single-chip microcomputer to realize the battery management. Both AC power and battery power, the output voltage stability in 23 to 24 v.Via advanced battery management, two sections of charging, equalized charging and floating charging can automatic convert and the DCUPS has many functions of protection, such as over-voltage protection ,under voltage protection and short circuit protection.The actual use on the ship and other occasions showed that the DCUPS is convenient and practical,and is more simple, reliable and longer emergency power supply than the traditional AC-DC uninterruptible power supply management scheme.
