Abstract: Collaborative design of project oriented product involves not only the multidisciplinary knowledge synergy technology and cooperative managing technology of multiple design processes, but also the organization that puts the collaborative design into practice. Collaborative design is a complicate social-technology system which reflects product cognition process and the social relations of design teams. Based on the theory of systems engineering, a three dimensional description system of collaborative design is presented in this paper: disciplinary dimension, design process dimension and organization dimension. A spiral model of collaborative design process is proposed to express the reciprocity between disciplinary dimension and design process dimension. Design organization is viewed as the core of the social-technology system of collaborative design. The organization is depicted with class diagram. Researching collaborative design from the view point of socio-technical system, research field of design methodology is extended and it is beneficial to design methodologys guidance for complex product design, which also lays a solid foundation for further study on knowledge management in collaborative design.

Abstract: In the paper, the main research topic is product data exchange of each heterogeneous systems in the process of collaborative design and manufacturing under the condition of mass customization.Based on the research for existing technology of product model information sharing and conversion,put forward the solution to combine STEP with XML,completed product data transfer and exchange among web-based cooperation enterprises. Also,it was researched how to express EXPRESS data model to XML, as well as its application in the network environment, the function of converting STEP Part21 physical file to XML file was realized.

Abstract: In this paper, a method for injection mould of concurrent development was put forward based on graph theory and design structure matrix. In activities identification phase, coupled activity was identified by Boolean operation of adjacent matrix, accessible matrix and strong connected matrix. After re-engineering and optimizing, a structured model is established to open out the principle of the concurrent injection mould design process. The method has the advantage of flexibility to deal with the interrelationship of various tasks, which greatly improved the efficiency of development.

Abstract: In construction of CSCD system for distribution engineering, there existed two main problems: the design security control, the call speed and reuse efficiency of CAD drawings. This paper has designed the electronic signature and the electronic seal, the decision program of validity of CAD files to solve the security problem after the risks in their circulating process were analyzed. Furthermore, the three-layer distribution network topological structure, the Classified and layered storage methods, the smart client and the knowledge push methods of CAD files have been developed to increase the call speed and reuse efficiency. The technical methods have been verified feasible in the practical operation of FJCD system.

Abstract: Industrial robots are widely applied in all kinds of automatic production line. It is the most important members in the family of robots. To improve the product quality and the precision of the robots, in addition to control strictly the production techniques and monitor its manufacturing process, the most important is to improve the design level and the design efficiency. In this paper, a new type of automatic four degrees of freedom industrial robots will be studied by using Solid Edge ST4 3 d synchronous modeling technology. In the process of design, synchronous modeling, parallel design, cooperative modeling technique and Top-down Assembly Modeling technology are combined with during the design. The whole product modeling design has included module and subsystem, has accomplished chassis module, and turn arm module and grab module design. The key point in this paper is that synchronous modeling technology is used in the three dimensional modeling the design application, and shows that the technology in different modules and the union between different designers. The results show that all the technical application above can improve the design efficiency, reduce design error and design iterative process, thus greatly improve the product quality and production efficiency

Abstract: The collaborative design and manufacturing is applied in the aircraft industry. This paper introduces the collaborative design and manufacturing mode in aircraft industry and presents its structural framework. The data is managed in the structure of BOM and there are two ways to share the data between the suppliers. The collaborative design and manufacturing process reflects the concept of concurrent engineering. The collaborative design and manufacturing system has been applied in the project of C919 which could sharply shorten the research cycle and reduce the product cost.

A neuter digital assembly model which is independent from all kinds of the commercial CAD software is set up. The quick planning of the assembly sequences and the automatic search of the assembly dimension chain can be realized by the simulation.

Abstract: The importance of collaboration between different design disciplines has been widely researched. Traditionally this is achieved through multidisciplinary design optimization approach. By analysis of the technical problems, this paper provides a new method to facilitate collaborative design, which is based on physical programming and a well-organized negotiation process helps designers rapidly reach a consistent solution. Finally, a design example of hydrodynamic bearing is illustrated to prove the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract: In the domain of computer supporting collaborative work (CSCW), various software packages have been developed for the product development. To solve the problem of the low efficiency of product development in heavy truck, the requirements of heavy truck development in collaborative design are analyzed, and then the system architecture and integration structure is proposed, on the basis, a collaborative design platform is developed and implemented in a heavy truck enterprise. The collaboration between design department and sales department, suppliers, after-service department based on the platform is implemented, which lays a solid basis for the improvement of product development speed and after-service level.
