Abstract: Traditional Chinese hairstyle is an important part of the traditional Chinese culture, which provides rich material for computer animation. The creation process of traditional Chinese hairstyle model in computer animation is complex working and time-consuming. This study establishes the traditional Chinese hairstyle database, which covers from Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty. According to the characteristics of the traditional Chinese hairstyle, this study develops an Intelligent Traditional Chinese Hairstyle System by MEL, which can display the condition of traditional Chinese hairstyle models in real time and change attributes related with models efficiently. The system is the combination among computer technology, animation art and traditional Chinese culture. It will improve the efficiency and quality in the computer animation creation.

Abstract: The crucial problem in cloth simulation based on Physical model is how to solve the motion differential equations. Mass spring model is ideal and it is widely used in cloth simulation. The simulation technology of cloth modeling based on mass spring model is presented completely, fabric mechanics models are established precisely, and several kinds of explicit numerical integration are compared in detail, especially, using RK-4 method can greatly improve system’s stability. This cloth simulation method is applied to cloth software. Examples have proved that this method is advanced and practical.

Abstract: This paper presented a survey on the development of smoke simulation in computer animation, with a detail introduction to the classification of the works as well as different kinds of methods employed in the field. The methods applied mainly include the particle system method, the mathematic and physics-based method and the texture based method. Each method had their advantages and shortcomings, application scopes and result characteristics. We discussed the tendency of this direction.

Abstract: This paper introduces a method for interactive direct manipulation of motion capture animation, which allows a user to alter positional properties of a motion and preserves the motions’ quality. The algorithm contains three stages: motion analysis, motion path editing, and constraint reconstruction. Our experiments show that by using the algorithm human motion can be transformed successfully from the old path to the new path.

Abstract: This paper presents a model for automatically generating 3D cartoon ocean water animations in real-time. The dynamic ocean water surface model is modeled by a spectral method. The cartoon rendering process is implemented by multipass on GPU: First, we code normal of ocean model and generate normal map. Next, we extract discontinuities from normal map and smooth it into edge map. Finally we combine the edge map with cartoon shading based on a projective texture mapping. Some experimental results demonstrate the prettiness and efficiency of the presented model.
