Abstract: In the belief function theory, the combination of highly conflicting evidences is a research focus,and the key lies in both the rationality and timeliness of combination method.This paper analyzes deeply the existing strategy of model modification, and putsforward a new rapid evidence synthesis method based on model modification. The average evidence ofweighted combination on mean evidence isfirstly given, then fast combination on pignistic transformation can be realized. Thus the BBM accordancewith the principle of proportion redistribution isgot. This method has the advantage of Murphy’s method, and overcomes the large calculation problems at the same time. Comparedwith other methods, the new method is more effective to solve the combinationproblem of highly conflicting evidences, and has fast convergence speed, small computationalcomplexity, and higher practical application value.

Abstract: To solve the problem of conflict confidence in D-S evidence theory, this paper proposed a new method. First a distance function was introduced, then the supporting degree of the evidence by other evidences was calculated, and the BPAs of the evidences were modified by the supporting degree using fuzzy inference theory, and the modified evidences were fused by D-S combination rules. Experiment result showed the effectiveness of the method.

Abstract: In the belief function theory framework, how to measure conflict between evidences is the first step in the combination of conflicting evidences. However, the existing conflict measurement methods have some limitations. Two new methods based on binary function of the combined belief assigned to the emptyset before normalization and the distance betting commitments of beliefs are proposed. Two methods have three advantages. Firstly, they are more suitable for people's intuitive logic reasoning. Secondly, they overcome the operational problem of the existing binary conflict measurement methods. Thirdly, new methods can measure the conflict between any pieces of evidence simultaneously, which can satisfy the interchangeability and combinability. Some illustration results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the improved methods.

Abstract: To solve the problem that D-S evidence combination method may lose effectiveness when evidences are highly or full conflict, we propose weighted combination method of conflict evidence based on deviation. We think, different evidence source is under different circumstance, so the importance of each evidence is different. It is necessary to give weight to every evidence, then conflict probability can only just be assigned. Deviation is a good standard to measure errors. In the circumstance the difference between probabilities from certain evidence source and their mean is too large, that indicates confidence of the evidence is small. So we can use deviation to structure the weight coefficient of each evidence. Based on the weight coefficients, conflict evidences are combined. This method corresponds to people’s thinking habit, only little calculation is needed, and satisfying consequence can be achieved.

Abstract: A novel combination method is proposed in order to efficiently combine conflict evidence. The credibility of the evidence is derived by introducing a distance function, and the conflict probability is distributed to every proposition according to its credibility. Better performance is demonstrated by numerical examples compared with three other methods.
