Abstract: Equal channel angular pressing (ECA-pressing) is an effective process to produce materials with increased mechanical properties and no change of billet size. In the present paper the experimental and finite element analysis results of ECA-pressing investigation were obtained. The influence of contact friction condition on flow nature and stressedly-deformed state of metal during ECA-pressing was studied.

Abstract: In this paper, a transientdynamic analysis is presented for large deformation of powder forming process. The technique is employed using the contact friction algorithm and plasticity behavior of powder. The contact algorithm is applied by imposing the contact constraints and modifying the contact properties of frictional slip through the node-to-surface contact algorithm. A double-surface cap plasticity model is used for highly nonlinear behavior of powder. In order to predict the non-uniform density and stress distributions during powder die-pressing, the numerical schemes are examined for accuracy and efficiency in modeling of a set of powder components.

Abstract: The three dimensional finite element models of rod have been built on the basis of thermo-mechanical coupled elastic-plastic FEM in order that the rolling process of No.5 pass is simulated accurately. The distributed rule of friction is calculated and discussed with variable initial rolling temperature, diameters of rollers, reduction in pass and rolling speeds. The results show that the fore sliding region, adhesive region and back sliding region are existent on the surface of rolling material. Furthermore, friction force is calculated by using numerical simulation method and it is a new approach in studying friction. The analysis of friction force is available for reference to optimize processing parameters in the rolling process.

Abstract: Since almost large die surfaces are free-form surfaces, currently, these are almost manually implemented. In order to overcome this barrier, floating polishing is a feasible polishing technology. The contact friction between polishing disk and workpiece is a key problem of floating polishing technology. This paper tries to study the contact friction between polishing disk and workpiece with ANSYS analysis software. At first, the paper focuses on the contact friction between polishing disk and plane workpiece by ANSYS analysis software, then focuses on the contact friction between polishing disk and cylinder and sphere workpiece with the software. The analysis results show the hypothesis of full friction condition is feasible. The research results will be used for developing the floating polishing.
