Abstract: This article addresses the burning test conducted on two different configuration of composite sandwich panel. Same flame-retardant material core but different face sheet material. The aim is to identify the heat resistance capability of plant fiber sandwich panel with flame-retardant core compare with traditional carbon fiber sandwich. There are researches of heat resistance behavior for carbon fiber sandwich panel with flame-retardant core [1] [2], but few on plant fiber. As plant fiber has been take a role in composite field, the heat resistance behavior of flame-retardant plant fiber sandwich panel deserves further investigated [3]. The test result indicates that, plant fiber with flame-retardant core sandwich has similar heat resistance behavior in the first stage of burning test with carbon fiber sandwich. However, after burning for 40 seconds, the heat resistance of plant fiber specimen attenuated dramatically than carbon fiber specimen. In addition, the heat induced delamination of two different specimens were also observed. Hence, decided the residual mechanical properties of the burnt specimens.

Abstract: In order to research the effect of core material on strength and stiffness of hat stiffener, using the finite element method which establishes a series of hat stiffener finite element models with different core materials. This research indicates that foam core material in simple models can be negligible, and pinewood needs to be considered. For large and complex composite material structures, from the security and efficiency aspects to consider, the core material of hat stiffener could be ignored in their models.Using Beam188, Beam189, Shell99 element to simulate rectangular hat stiffeners, the results shows that the beam elements can simulate the hat stiffeners instead of shell elements when setting up a finite model of the whole ship in order to simplify the modeling.This study provides a basis for the simplification of GFRP fishing vessel finite element model and makes great significance to its direct calculations and rapid design. Meanwhile, this study has a certain reference value for the design and calculation of the hat stiffeners in composite ship.

Abstract: Vacuum insulation panels (VIPs) are regarded as one of the most promising high-performance thermal insulation solutions on the market today. In this paper, a novel structure, i.e., honeycomb glassfiber mat was proposed as the core material of VIP. The honeycomb glassfiber mat was composed of glass wool mat and glassfiber chopped strand mat. Among them, 70% centrifugal glass wool and 30% flame attenuated glass wool were mixed together to form the 0.5mm-thickness glass wool mat, while thirteen holes with diameter of 10mm were opened uniformly on the surface of glassfiber chopped strand mat. Glassfiber VIPs possessed honeycomb core material have superior thermal conductivity of 1.52mW/(m•K). In order to obtain better thermal insulation performance, ultrafine and stiff fibers with three-dimensional overlapping structure is preferable. Meanwhile, hollow fibers with bifurcated structure are the guarantee of high-strength core material.

Abstract: Objective:To study the relative translucency of 5 veneered and glazed all-ceramic systems core material, including Procerra AllCeram Alumina, Vita In-Ceram Zirconium, Ivoclar Vivodent Empress, In-Ceram Spinell and Colored Zirconia. Methods: Under standard black and white background, the surface light reflectivity of 5 veneered all-ceramic systems core material was determined with contact color difference meter, and the ratio of Yb /Yw was calculated. Results: After veneered, the relative translucency of 5 core materials all declined, and ranged from 0.6740 of In-Ceram Spinell to 1.00 of In-Ceram zirconia, among of that In-Ceram Spinell was most transparent. Conclusion: Among the groups, there is no significant differences among Empress II, Procera AllCeram and Colored Zirconia (IL1,IL2,IL3). Compared with Procera AllCeram and Vita In-Ceram Zirconium , Procera AllCeram has significant difference. There is a significant difference between Procera AllCeram and In-Ceram Spinell.

Abstract: The purpose of this study was to compare the transmittance of four dental all-ceramic core materials at clinical recommendation thickness.Specimens with 10mm in diameter and 0.50.01mm in thickness,including IPS e.max Press,Zenostar Zirconia,Lava Zirconia and Upcera Zirconia,were fabricated.The transmittance of specimens were measured with PR2650 spectrophotometer and measurements were analysed statistically with SPSS13.0.Experimental results showed that they had significantly different transmittance.There was a decreasing order,IPS e.max Press Lava Zirconia Zenostar Zirconia Upcera Zirconia,which were 6.1136.750 for IPS e.max,1.6042.135 for Lava Zirconia,1.5782.117 for Zenostar Zirconia and 0.9951.265 for Upcera Zirconia.

Abstract: This study aimed to compare the translucency of four veneered dental all-ceramic core materials,including IPS e.max Press,Zenostar,Lava Zirconia and Upcera Zirconia.All specimens were fabricated at 10mm in diameter and 1.00.01mm in thickness.The translucency of specimens were measured with color difference meter and measurements were statistically analysed with SPSS 13.0. Experimental results showed that their translucency had significant difference,the order of relative translucency from high to low was IPS e.max PressLava ZirconiaZenostarUpcera Zirconia.IPS e.max Press which has good optical effect may be preferable for restoring anterior tooth with higher translucent. As for relatively opaque posterior tooth,Upcera Zirconia may be advisable.

Abstract: Choose the organic thermochromic compo site materials as thermochromic microcapsule core-material,Using and studying crystal violet lactone 、bisphenol A and tetradecyl alcohol as the components of compo site materials according to the need of textiles finishies. We analysed the structure and capability of the compo site materials and identified 1:4:70 as the optimal ratio of the compo site materials could suitable for discoloration gradient of textiles,lay the foundation for preparation of microcapsule and textiles finishies. The discoloration fabric as functional textile has a tremendous market potential,its could using discoloration dress、materials-show and prevent bogus marker。Thermochromic fabrics is the intelligent textile and colour changed following the temperature changes. Generally,the Thermochromic materials was encased by microcapsule and using the finishing technology pasted the microcapsule on the surface of fabrics,so the fabric could has the discoloration function. Currently,thermochromic materials have organic、inorganic and Liquid crystal materials. Study to thermochromic materials and achieved a organic thermochromic compo site material in this paper,using the compo site material as the core-material of thermochromic microcapsule for the discolouration fabric finishes.

Abstract: To study the influence of background color to 3 all-ceramic system core materials.The chromaticity value of all samples that were put on noble metal, Ni-Cr alloy, Hg-Ag alloy and resign background were measured with chromatism instrument, and chromatic aberration among groups were calculated. The chromatic aberration of Empress II samples on different background color could be distinguished by human eyes, but those of Alumina and Zirconium were unable to being distinguished. In conclusion, the influence of background color to Empress II and In-Ceram Alumina of AL1 were lager. When chosen as core material, noble metals should be covered to keep prosthesis from clinical color-transform. As background to In-Ceram Alumina of AL2, it was unnecessary for resin to be covered. In-Ceram Alumina of AL3, AL4 and In-Ceram Zirconium weren’t affected by background color.
