Abstract: The paper deals with hard cutters of drill bits for drilling rocks. The research on geometry of hard alloy and steel cutters of bits that work either under conditions of shockless loads was carried out in this work. The rationale of tungsten carbide and cobalt composition according to their hardness and robustness is provided. Different alloys were suggested to be used for tools working either under conditions of shockless loads or under shock loads for drilling rocks of high hardness. The rock deformation process was identified to occur by cutting and shearing forces. The highest influence on the cutting process is exerted by the acuity angle and back rake angle. Peculiarities of work of cutters with positive, negative and neutral back rake angles were determined as part of the main research. The dependence of penetration depth on the back rake angle of the cutter was obtained. Indicators of wearing identified in the research are including the type and properties of interacting surfaces characterized by the roughness of cutting bit surface, the hardness of materials in contact zone, friction mode that depends on unit pressure, movement rate, the nature of load application, and the rate of interaction of working parts of bit.

Abstract: To study the fatigue damage of a cutter used for cutting cashew nut, the integrated
simulation platform is established with Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, LS-PrePost, and nCode GlyphWorks.
The simulation model is established by Hypermesh. LS-Dyna is used to calculate the k file.
LS-PrePost is used as the post-processing software. The rain-flow counting, load superposition and
extrapolation are executed using Rainflow module in nCode GlyphWorks. The analysis of the
fatigue damage of the cutter is executed using Stress Life module in nCode GlyphWorks. The
equivalent stress time history of different elements in the upper and lower cutters, rain-flow
counting histogram after load spectrum superposition, rain-flow counting histograms after load
spectrum extrapolation, and damage histogram of the cutter are obtained. The results show that the
cutter has excellent mechanical properties, and the minimum fatigue life of the cutter is about 495
days, which is a conservative solution.

Abstract: Summary: Modern mining and road machines in all countries of the world are equipped mostly with expendable tangential rotary cutters which results in high consumption of metal and high costs of rock breaking. A reusable cutter for mining and road machines was designed and tested. The article describes the procedure and results of the cutter tests in the Kuzbass mines. The tests showed high technical and economic efficiency of the innovative cutters.

Abstract: [Purpos] in order to solve design problems of the cutter for the seedling vegetable harvester, a reciprocating cutter with a crank linkage mechanism has been designed. [Metho SolidWorks software has been adopted for virtual design of parts and assemblies of the reciprocating cutter for the seedling vegetable harvester. A mathematical model for kinematic analysis of the cutter taking a crank linkage mechanism as its transmission system has been built. Matlab is used for kinematic analysis on the double-crank linkage mechanism from aspects of displacement, velocity and acceleration of followers. [Result The cutter has been applied to the seedling vegetable harvester for the experimental purpose and turned out to operate reliably and produce uniform height and leveling shearing fracture. [Conclusion Results indicate that the cutter has been reasonably designed, which will provide theoretical and practical basis for related design.

Abstract: In this paper a new type shield cutter wear detection method based on ultrasonic thickness measurement theory was presented. Its working principle was introduced. Its hardware and software were designed. Compared with the existing detection methods, the new method is more accurate and more intuitive, and the method can also provide technical support for the project very well.

Abstract: In order to providing the reference of improving the reliability of the tools, this paper analyze the stress of steel bar cutting tool and reinforcement which is used in the construction equipment in the process of cutting . Finite element method is used to build a 3d model of 60 t hydraulic shearing machine. And stress situation of steel bar and shear blade is analysized in the shearing process. Then inspect if cutting tools is reliable and improving measures are put forward.

Abstract: It is very difficult to accurately control the speed of paper roller and sword roller of the paper cutting machine, and the proportions of two paces control have greater randomness. Alterable fuzzy-PID (proportion integral derivative) control arithmetic is put forward based on PLC. The alterable fuzzy controller and the PI adjustor are realized by PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). The satisfied results are achieved with PID control and adaptive fuzzy control. The simulation results show that the two schemes are satisfying. And the two schemes have their own characteristics.

Abstract: The shield machine is a large complete sets of equipment used for underground tunnel excavation in the city construction,it has been widely used in the tunnel excavation. Cutter is one of the key components of shield machine. Different geological conditions and badly application environment make the cutter stress complex. German Herrenknecht S749 shield cutter as an example, using PRO/E software to establish the three-dimensional model, ANSYS Workbench module establishes the cutter corresponding finite element calculation model, the force characteristics of the cutter in working process were analyzed, obtained the cutter`s stress strain distribution. The research results can provide basic data for the wheel structure design and construction maintenance.

Abstract: In view of present situation that fixture for standardized cutter can install only one specification of standardized cutter and center height of cutter blade must be calibrated by gaskets, a new-style multi-functional fixture was designed which can clamp various specifications of standardized cutters and be adjusted more precisely and easily by screws. The main design contents include general structure of fixture, installation space of cutter, harford vertical adjusting mechanism, cutter lateral fastening and screwdown column; lateral fastening force, screwdown clamping force and tighten torque of different specifications of cutters are calculated afterwards. It has been proven by practices that the new fixture has good effects and meets demand of production well.
