Abstract: Rubber diaphragm forming is one of very important manufacture method in aircraft manufacturing. In order to achieve the purpose of precise forming and high efficient simulation of the rubber diaphragm forming for the aircraft sheet metal parts in CAE software of ABAQUS, first the blank design module is developed and embedded into ABAQUS in the use of one step inverse finite element method because there is no blank design algorithm in ABAQUS. Then according to the characteristics of the rubber diaphragm forming, development technology on ABAQUS is applied to develop a rubber diaphragm forming simulation system based on combining Graphical User Interface GUI and the scripting language of Python. In this system, the parameter definition plug-in and finite element modeling module are designed to save a lot of tedious steps, so the blank parameters and process parameters can be defined rapidly and the simulation process can be simplified in ABAQUS, which can greatly improve the analysis speed and improve the efficiency of the finite element method. Finally the accuracy and effectiveness of the rubber diaphragm forming simulation system are verified by the simulation of a typical part that is a door frame bracket of aircraft.

Abstract: Currently, the use of activated carbon (AC) increased significantly for the industrial sector, health, environment and agriculture. However, the commercial price of activated carbon is relatively expensive, especially for micro industries mainly due to high production costs. Additionally, it comes from non-renewable sources with limited availability. This prompted the researchers to study the production of AC from inexpensive precursors and renewable; one of which is made from bamboo. AC production can be done through a pyrolysis process followed by physical or chemical activation. Differences in raw materials and activation methods used can affect the characteristics and quality of activated carbon produced. This paper reviews the development and application of bamboo activated carbons in the life sectors and their potency for use as an adsorbent material for the absorbed natural gas (ANG).

Abstract: This paper is focused on the mechanical properties development of fine recycled aggregate (FRA) concrete. FRA was obtained from recycling plant in the Czech Republic. There were prepared four concrete mixtures in the laboratory. The first mixture was reference (REF) with fine natural aggregate (FNA). FNA was replaced in concrete mixtures R10, R20 and R30 in varying replacement ratio. The concrete mixtures R10, R20 and R30 contained 10 %, 20 % and 30 % FRA. There were tested properties of concrete. Finally, it is possible to say that the use of the FRA in concrete influences concrete properties. It is necessary to verify of probably an improvement of compressive strength of FRA concrete in future research. However, FRA concrete is possible to be used in the manufacturing of building structures, but it is necessary to test durability and lifespan of FRA concrete.

Abstract: The article describes design of a drive module of a modular mobile chassis. This chassis was developed at the Department of Robotics, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, VŠB-Technical University of Ostrava, as a part of the student grant competition “Research and development of modular robotic systems.” The article describes variants and the final mechanical construction of the drive module and also the structural analysis of this module according to the possible positioning in the whole modular system. The obtained results and possible ways of additional future development and modifications of the module are summarized in the conclusion.

Abstract: Employees are very important to every organization. This study attempts to examine the effectiveness of current human resource management utilization and practices in oil and gas projects in Malaysia, as well as to study the importance of having effective human resource management practices utilization. The human resource management practices namely training and development, performance appraisal, compensation, employee empowerment and ownership as well as work environment are the main practices that has being focused. A questionnaire form has been distributed to the employees of PETRONAS Carigali SDN BHD (PCSB), a leading oil and gas operator in Malaysia including their contractors.

Abstract: The market pressure and the products of competitors are decreasing the duration of product life cycles. Besides that, special customer requirements and rising product complexity result in an increase of the effort and the costs of the development process. In order to minimize the effort of the development process as well as to handle the uncertainties which come along with the planning and selection of manufacturing systems a data-based configuration tool was developed for the use in the field of sheet metal forming. Based on the product data of existing press systems, the tool is able to predict the fundamental configuration of a newly developed press system. The utilization and functionality of the tool is illustrated on two exemplary press systems.

Abstract: In modern business conditions companies are more or less characterized by complexity and fluctuation. Special economic conditions, particularly in terms of intensive processes of globalization and the global financial crisis, have shown a constant decrease profit-making of the enterprises in the machinery industry, and thereby worsening financial position. It is a kind of crisis of business enterprises in the less adaptable business-system environment. Crisis management comes to the fore a crisis, enterprises, primarily associated with the development of the situation in which the company has reached a critical point with certain characteristics. However, it is a definition of all the hallmarks of the crisis the company. In the narrower sense, the crisis of the company is to be understood as a process in which, unplanned and unwanted, endanger the fundamental economic objectives of the company - the goal of preserving invested capital, profit goal (profitability), the goal of preserving the liquidity and solvency of the company. Therefore identify four main phases of the crisis of business enterprises: strategic crisis, the crisis of profitability, liquidity crisis, liquidity and borrowing.

Abstract: Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEMFC) is a device that generates electricity through an electrochemical reaction of oxygen air and hydrogen fuel. Thetransportofoxidantand fuel through the bipolarplatesis a significant factor affecting the cell performance. Currently, present work concentrates highly on flow field layout and channels design configurations. In this paper, the development two flow field layouts are discussed with different inlet/outlet channel ratio. Serpentine-paralleldesignisusedasthe base layout. The flow fields have inlet/outlet channel ratio of 1:1 and multiple inlet 2:1 configurations. Graphite is used as theplate material.Theanodeflowchannelis 2 mmx 1.2 mmx 2 mm meanwhile the cathode channel is 2 mm x 0.5 mm x 2 mm fora xbxwrespectively.Theactiveareais 25 cm2 with 5 cmx 5 cm dimensions. The fields were fabricated by Roland EGX-360 Desktop Engraver machine that involved drilling and profiling process. The fuel cell assembly process is explained in detail. The gasketmaterialis made from two materials which are Polyimide and Silicon. A series of pre-conditioning experiments were carried out in both fuel cells for confident purposes.

Abstract: The article presents results of the research focused on study of time development of composite material resistance to extreme exposition conditions. The tested materials were modified either in matrix respect (mixing binder) and aggregate item as well by alternative raw materials (lightweight aggregates). The emphasis was placed on evaluation of resistance at exposition in 28, 45 and 90-day extreme conditions ambient when the specimens were stored under standard conditions. Mortars were exposed in ambient with temperature up to 1000 °C and subsequently cooled under control in furnaces.

Abstract: Design of experiment (DOE) is the focal collective of quality technique and is widely used in Research and Development (R&D) organization to optimize product design parameters. There are three main DOE approaches that commonly adopted by R&D companies, which are the classical Fisher’s DOE, Taguchi DOE and Shainin DOE. This paper explores how these three main DOE approaches could be integrated to optimize product design parameters in a Research and Development company. The paper starts with enlightenment of the common DOE steps, follows by discussion of issues faced by the Research and Development company during the implementation of the three DOE approaches in product design. The paper subsequently illustrates how the three DOE approaches could be integrated as a new methodology for optimization of product design parameters. The integrated DOE methodology presented in this paper offers an alternative and effective way to conduct DOE in a dynamic product design and development environment.
