Abstract: This paper studied how to quickly draw the roll engineering drawing thorough ARX application program, introduced and analyzed the layer, linear, size tolerance Settings, and geometric tolerance Settings. On this basis, citing specific examples will be described, and listed the specific examples to explain. At last speaked on design idea and the development steps for roll rapid drawing system, completed the ARX applications of manufacturing circular tube roll. Those ARX application program loaded in the AutoCAD2002, automatically drawed mechanical drawing of roll by inputting characteristic value, liberated the drawing technicist, saved plenty of manpower and material resources.

Abstract: To improve the efficiency of variant design, it is not only needs dimension variant design but also needs dimensional tolerance design method. The method to extract tolerance information from parametric model of a part, the method to calculate tolerance value of a dimension according to its accuracy class, the method to place tolerance information to a dimension are researched. A dimensional tolerance variant design method of part based on the above three methods and parametric technology is put forward. The dimensional tolerance variant design method is integrated into dimension variant design method and an integrated variant design method is obtained. An integrated variant design module which can be integrated into SolidWorks is developed. As an example, the methods and the integrated variant design module is applied to an output shaft and the methods and the variant design module are verified.

Abstract: Product variant design is one of the key technologies of Manufacturing Enterprise for responding market demand. During the product variant design, dimensional tolerance variant design plays an important role. However, dimensional tolerance variant design is considered rarely in the researches of product variant design. To solve the dimensional tolerance variant design during product variant design, information expression, extraction and labeling method of dimensioning of dimensional tolerance of part dimension model is investigated. A variant design method with dimensional tolerance is presented in this paper. In the method, dimension variant design and dimensional tolerance variant design are integrated, so dimension variant design and dimensional tolerance variant design are implemented concurrently. A part variant design module with dimension and dimensional tolerance based on SolidWorks is developed for using Visual C++. Finally, an example of shaft illustrates the proposed method.

Abstract: The effect of geometric clearances on the stress and deformation distributions of a wedged-ring joint structure is studied, five cases of dimensional tolerance of each contact surface, i.e., the maximum, minimum, mean of maximum and minimum, mean of maximum and mean, and mean of minimum and mean are investigated, and the probable states that the wedged-rings attach with the upper cylinder or attach with the lower cylinder radially in the assembly process are considered as well. The results of finite element numerical simulations indicate that in the design tolerance zone, the effects of geometric clearances between contact surfaces on the displacement and stress distributions of the structural components are weak. Only when the wedged-rings attach tightly with the upper cylinder or with the lower cylinder, the displacement and stress distributions in the joint of the structure occur a dramatic variation, and the assembly processing measure making the wedged-rings attaching tightly with the lower cylinder can be adopted to effectively decrease the stresses and deformations in the joint of the structure.
