Abstract: A novel finite element method (FEM) based wide-angle (WA) beam propagation method (BPM) was presented whereby the scalar Helmholtz equation was solved without using the slow varying envelope approximation (SVEA) and was more general and precise than the previous well-known WA-BPM proposed by Hadley. The accuracy of this novel scheme was demonstrated in comparison with the existing approach.

Abstract: In a probe calibration facility employing the TEM cell as the field generator, a method to calculate the net power delivered into the TEM cell is presented through monitoring the coupling power of the directional coupler. The new formula requires the effective reflection coefficient of the dual coupler and takes into consideration the directivity of the coupler, the mismatch between the coupler and the TEM cell, the mismatch between the power sensor and the coupling port of the coupler. The formula can provide sufficient accuracy in calibration purpose application using a TEM cell with a coupler combined with power sensors to monitor the net power.

Abstract: The expression of calculation of the waveguide-stripling-coaxial line directional coupler, Coupling is through small apertures in the form of a circular hole, is derived. The relationships between Technology parameters with the geometric of the directional coupler are analyzed in detail, the numerical results indicate that, in order to get acceptable of coupling coefficient and directivity, ones may not only change the size of the small hole and rotate the probe in the waveguide - waveguide directional coupler, but also the size of stripline as well as the coupler position.
