Abstract: The article is devoted to Academy of Construction for University Applicants distance course. The course is posted on university Distance Learning Portal (http://dl.spbstu.ru) based on Moodle. The course is a tool of university online marketing. The main benefits for students trained in this course are analyzed.

Abstract: This paper proposed a model of combination recommendation, focusing on analysis and comparison of content filtering recommendation technology and collaborative filtering recommendation technology based on the mainstream personalized recommendation technology, and the model working process is given. For how to solve the problem of sparse and cold start, the paper gave the solve methods, and discussed the process of combination recommendation algorithm, and then introduced a method of developing and designing personalized courseware recommendation system of rural modern distance learning, and introduced the optimization measures of functional modules and performance. It provides a useful reference for distance education site to carry out personalized training services for rural adult users.

Abstract: Online learning is more and more popular in colleges in recent years, but it still remains at a budding stage of its development. It needs more adjustment to meet the students requirements. So firstly, we should get more feedback or insight on how the students perceive and suggestions to online courses. By analyzing the problems with online learning, and basing on the literature review, this article gives the finding point and conclusion. And that is supposed to help both the instructors and the administrators decide if the school should continue their online learning programs.

Abstract: The platform of rural distance learning (PRDL) is an interactive tool used to farmers for the video training, interactive consulting, teaching and management with the features of resource integration, safe, and reliable. PRDL was dual-network transmission structure via the Internet and E-government network, covering all the Beijings towns and villages, which is applied media asset management technology to build a municipal teaching resource library. The problems of PRDL are solved such as complex network for rural areas, limited bandwidth resources and diverse user needs base on in-depth study of distance learning key technologies. It is for farmers learning modern agricultural technology to provide a strong support.

Abstract: Power Line Communication network has drawn more and more attention and achieved rapid development with its advantages of vast resources and low cost compared with telecommunication network and cable television network. Based on the advantages of Power Line Communication technology, the hardware system was formatted applying four-tier B/S architecture, and the distance learning system based on Power Line Communication technology was established using ASP (Active Server Page) technology. Study shows that the Power Line Communication network is a reliable network learning resources, of great significance to promote distance learning, especially in areas without Internet coverage.

Abstract: Traditional distance learning is based on wire network, such as internet, cable television network, telephone network and so on. With the development of wireless mobile network, there are many advantages such as without time and space limit, so it can bring some chance for distance learning video living and video on demand. In the text, we discussed distance learning history and development, wireless network development, and the designing video living and video on demand based on wireless mobile network, at last, the conclusion was given. The terminal users can get distance learning video living and video on demand service through the wireless network.

Abstract: Education is now engaged in a transitional period with respect to new technologies which is unique in its history. No previous technologies which have been proposed to “revolutionize” education have simultaneously had identical or equivalent revolutionary consequences for this world. Given the technological resources, dealing with the challenges to their effective utilization in education will focus on human-professional. To assist web-based multimedia for distance education, it is important to understand the characteristic and its educational concerns. This study was to identify characteristics of web-based multi-media for distance learning settings.
