Abstract: Based on stochastic seismic response and time-history seismic response analysis,Dynamic response laws of the high slope constructions by three real seismic waves and a synthetic seismic wave were studied using finite - element method, discussing the differentiation and relation between the high slope constructions and ground constructions. The results show that the dynamic response on high slope constructions are less intensive than ground constructions due to delaying effect of high slope soil acts on the structure, but its internal force stronger than ground constructions as the pile in high slope constructions are anti-sliding and bearing. Results are conducive to the seismic design of high slope constructions.

Abstract: Paper material has many excellent characteristics in architectural applications. Our main constructions for disaster rescue are temporary tents, board house and so on for a long time, so it is difficult to meet the psychological demands of the people in disaster area. According to Maslow's hierarchy theory of psychological demands, this paper analyzes people’s demands of physiology, psychology and social aspects in disaster areas, also sums up the exploration of paper material in architectural application, and finally summarizes that paper material is economy, flexible, safety, sustainable and so on.

Abstract: Soil nailing has become a widely accepted method and offers a practical solution towards construction of permanent retaining wall, slope stabilization and protection of existing cuts from failure. In Malaysia, soil nailing is typically performed on cut slope and installed with grouting as preventatives method due to erosion problem. However, although the effectiveness of soil nailing system may be well understood by practitioners, the slope failure and collapses of deep excavation are continuously occurs, especially for the construction in the earthquake zone. Malaysia has numerous experiences of earthquake even this country has been categorized as low seismicity group. Hence, it is become important in the scope of geotechnical engineering to analyze and study the effect of earthquake to soil nailing systems in Malaysia. Aims of this paper are to focus and study this technical issue using the application of finite element program. This research study selects PGA of 0.08g based on the location of major population in Malaysia. Safety factor was calculated in this finite element program using phi-c reduction. Soil nailing relatively give satisfactory response under seismic, so pseudo-static method is applied for seismic loading study. Based on the static analysis results, the FOS for the deep excavation stabilized with soil nailing is 1.54. However, by considering the earthquake or seismic loading, the FOS reduces to 1.16 and the percentage of reduction is about 25%. Total displacement was observed slightly difference in soil nailing analysis during an earthquake and static analysis

Abstract: Horizontal earthquake acceleration is used for slope risk analysis, and the relationship between the dynamical safety factors and corresponding static safety factors is obtained. The reliability of anchored slope is expressed with the safety factor. The synthesized risk evaluation index, which included the dynamical, statically mechanics and reliability analysis, is established. The main procedure of calculation is provided by a practical project in this paper, and the computed example has shown it is worthy to study the method further.

Abstract: With the constant development of information technology and the strengthening of safety awareness, people study more and more on the earthquake. In this paper, it conducts analysis of the earthquake at fault by the GIS. First, a detailed description of the data organizational form in the spatial database and the data pretreatment is given; secondly, it discusses the buffer principle and the superposition principle of the seismic correlation, and describes the establishing process of the earthquake buffer and seismic activity; finally, according to the theory, it realizes the system by software. This paper has a positive effect for the geological workers.

Abstract: This paper gives the basic methods for the analysis of the seismic response of viaduct based on elastic-plastic response spectrum method, and established indicators correspond with the method of strength, deformation, basic displacement and other performance. Practical example shows that the elastic-plastic response spectrum analysis response can be careful examining structure of each target in strong earthquake action value, and compare with the nonlinear time-history analysis, the method is concise, efficient, stable, and has the statistical significance of spectrum analysis, that can be used as a city track traffic high bridge and practical method.

Abstract: The performance of friction dampers to mitigate waves and earthquakes in tower-type offshore platform is investigated in this paper. Taking the offshore platform of TOWER-1 as an example, the equation of motion of offshore platform structure under earthquake and wave loads was established. The response reductions of offshore platform structure by different peak earthquakes were analyzed. The results show that the responses of the tower-type offshore platform structure under wave and earthquake could be effectively reduced by friction damper, and the energy dissipation ability of the friction damper differs in the different floors. The friction dampers give good response reductions in different peak earthquakes, and the response reductions of displacement are better than those of acceleration.

Abstract: In order to obtain the Tibet gravel slope’s response under earthquake, using ABAQUS analysis this kind of slope and get the peak acceleration on the key elements along the slope height. Found that the result can truly gave the max acceleration during earthquake and the acceleration distribution of the slop.

Abstract: This paper presents a series of centrifuge tests studying the performance of colloidal silica grouted soil layers during permanent lateral ground deformations due to earthquake induced lateral spreading. Two centrifuge tests were conducted to study liquefaction resistance of liquefiable soil deposits stabilized with colloidal silica, and then the results were compared with the tests conducted on similar soil deposits without any soil remediation. The testing results on remediated soils showed excellent resistance against the liquefaction and associated lateral and vertical ground deformations.
