Abstract: The efficiency-reinforcement design for elastomeric hydraulic reciprocating sealing is relevant to many elements such as the shape and materials of sealing and its structure supports, the lubrication characteristics, and the operating parameters. In this paper, the efficiency-reinforcement design process model for elastomeric reciprocating sealing based on QFD/TRIZ is built, which is used to guide the reciprocating sealing efficiency-reinforcement design rapidly. QFD is used to identify the key elements that affect the sealing efficiency-reinforcement. TRIZ is used to resolve the conflicts of key elements, and give the efficiency-reinforcement design solutions.

Abstract: The efficiency-reinforcement design framework for hydraulic reciprocating seal is proposed, and the function attributes analysis model for reciprocating seal system is built. Through analyzing the components, functions and attributes of elastomeric hydraulic reciprocating seal system, the attributes that influence seal efficiency-reinforcement are identified. By eliminating the function attributes that lead to seal leakage and seal failure, and/or by improving the function attributes that are insufficient in seal, the efficiency-reinforcement design concept can be obtained. A new seal efficiency-reinforcement design solution is also present using this method.

Abstract: The high efficient, high reliability and energy-saving development of modern machinery equipments challenges the higher request for hydraulic sealing technology. However, current seal designer usually operates on the basis of his experience and skill, without systemic design theories and methods as guides. In this paper, according to the work principle of elastomeric hydraulic reciprocating sealing, the seal efficiency reinforcement design theory such as seal efficiency-reinforcement design rules and the seal failure criterion are proposed based on the numerable model and finite element analysis methods. This theory can offer theorical methods guider for seal design, so as to satisfy modern machinery equipments request for higher effciency and environment protest.

Abstract: The efficiency-reinforcement design framework of hydraulic reciprocating sealing driven by ideal solution is proposed. The seals’ main operating characteristics, seal efficiency control, leakage control and friction losses control are analyzed. The efficiency-reinforcement sealing element is designed according to TRIZ ideal final result searching strategy, sealing mechanism and tribological behavior. The computational model of efficiency-reinforcement sealing element is established with ANSYS, and its stress, strain and contact pressure distribution in different fluid pressure are also analyzed. The results demonstrated that the presented seal element outperforms the old seal in efficiency reinforcement capacity.

Abstract: The efficiency reinforcement technologies of sealing is important for improving sealing’s reliability and effectivity which result in zero leakage. Technology evolution of TRIZ can be used to forecast the future technology in products. These future technologies can guide a designer along the right direction of developing a new product. In this paper, the efficiency-reinforcement principle of hydrodynamic reciprocating sealing is discussed, technology evolution of TRIZ is integrated with the efficiency reinforcement design of hydrodynamic reciprocating sealing element to predict its future structure state. A new cross section shape of reciprocating sealing element corresponding to the predicted structure state is presented. The computational model of the new reciprocating seal element is established with ANSYS, and its stress, strain and pressure distribution are also analyzed. The results demonstrated that the presented seal elemente outperforms the old O-ring seal in efficiency reinforcement capacity.
