Abstract: Most of people have the habit of not cutting off power when equipment is shut down. This wastes a large amount of power. In view of this situation, an intelligent socket is proposed, which can produce operating states of electrical equipment through human-machine interaction and memorize these states in its non-volatile memory. With the number of use increasing, the socket can store more and more the running states of appliances and become more and more intelligent, which can make it cut off the power when appliances stop running and save a lot of power. This paper discusses the basic architecture of this kind of socket, abstracts two-tuple status model memorizing the running states of appliances, and designs the control algorithm based on the status model which can produce new running states or adjust old running states and yield instructions to power on or power off the socket.

Abstract: Morphology and characteristics of bubbles have an important effect on engineering applications of gas-liquid two-phase flow. To accurately describe the bubble characteristics, the bubble image processing system based on ARM9 is designed. System hardware is constructed with S3C2440 as the core. QT/Embedded and Qtopia are transplanted to the embedded platform, and the image processing application is developed using QT/Embedded, realizing a good human-computer interaction. According to the characteristics of bubble image, image processing algorithms are presented. The System has low power consumption, small size, and a good real-time performance and scalability.

Abstract: U-boot is an open source project under the protocol of GPL, which has been widely used as boot application on embedded system. Normally, U-boot initializes hardware and send to hardware information to the embedded OS. In mobile thermals, especially in the arm-based mobile device, U-boot has played an important role. U-boot supports many kinds of development boards. However it does not support every board, so it needs to be modified to fit other board. This paper analyses the boot procedure and the source code of U-boot, studies how to add a custom command on U-boot source, analyses the protocol of USB, then gives us a new way to download the binary U-boot file or the kernel directly to RAM and run. In this way, we do not need to burn the binary U-boot file or the kernel to Flash. This has save a lot of time in embedded system development.

Abstract: This study presents a design of an advanced embedded remote monitoring system based on the current computer network technology.This monitoring system carries out a data acquisition process by an embedded field monitor uploads the environmental information and alarm massages to a monitoring center computer and completes the data processing and data storage. The field monitor used in the monitoring system is composed of a data acquisition card and a network transmission card. This monitoring system with low cost simple equipments has practical accuracy that is suitable for unmanned machine room, base station, intelligent community and living house.

Abstract: Capturing an iris image rapidly is required for iris image acquisition embedded system. For the traditional method, an iris image must firstly pass through the quality evaluation, which is complex, so the acquisition speed is very slow. This paper described an iris acquisition embedded system, and a new capturing method. The system includes an DSP DM642, and some relevant peripherals. When an image is acquired, it is filtered by the capture-control function, if passed then be stored the image, until capturing the assigned amount. Using this method, we can rapidly capture the high quality iris images at about 0.8s, and 83% of the stored images can be used for the next procedure. At the same time, it is convenient for the user to capture.

Abstract: This paper puts forward a designing scheme of remote monitoring system for parameters of water quality based on GPRS, which is mainly try to improve the existing problems in traditional method such as low monitor frequency, more error in sampling, much dispersion in data. After carefully study the communication principle of GPRS, the monitoring information platform is constructed by adopting chip S3C2440A as key of hardware circuit ,making use of sensor to sample data in real-time, and with public GPRS as data channel. The test turns out that the system works well in function of wireless data channel and data analysis, moreover, it has good property in expansibility for other wireless T&C system.
