Abstract: Car brings convenience to people's work and life, however, there are too many environmental issues such as energy shortages, atmospheric pollution and greenhouse effect have been caused by using a lot of traditional fuel cars, which threaten mankind survival. Pure electric vehicle (PEV) has its unique advantage for high efficiency, low noise, less environmental pollution and can use alternative energy sources, therefore, PEV has achieved rapid development with governments and automobile manufacturers support. Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries are considered to be the best choice of power batteries for electric vehicles due to their high energy density, high working voltage, long cycle life and low self-discharge rate. With the production, use and scrap of Li-ion battery, the recycling and the utilization of Li-ion will become the focus of attention.

Abstract: A lot of shipping companies took initiative to implement the Environmental Management System ISO 14001. Despite having already implemented the mandatory Safety Management System under provisions of ISM Code, this initiative complement and leverage the existing range of initiatives being implemented in the field of energy efficiency, air pollution, waste management and marine environment preservation, notably. This paper aims to present the procedure for environmental analysis that a certain shipping company chose to implement ISO 14001.

Abstract: With rapid economic and social development in Tianjin coastal area, environmental impact factors are increasingly complex. In order to study the relationships between macrobenthos and environmental variables, macrobenthos and seven environmental variables (including dissolved oxygen, active phosphate, inorganic nitrogen, ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, and oil) are investigated in the summer of 2004 and 2007. Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) and Redundancy Analysis (RDA) in CANOCO software are all employed in the analysis for mutual authentication of the result. The results indicate that: (1) reactive phosphate and nitrite are the most important impact factor for the macrobenthic community; (2) nitrate is the supplementary factor that explains the macrobenthos data; (3) whether inorganic nitrogen is a key impact factor, it needs further research.

Abstract: Engineering consulting as a thriving new industry, facing the world becomes the inevitable trend of its development. As an international engineering consulting company, how to make a project investment evaluation in the region which has a changing political and economic, and has a different cultural and law turns to be very important. Basis on the investigation and study of the environmental factors of the area intends to invest, this article introduce explain structure model, find the hierarchical structural relationship of related various environmental factors, then do different analysis to the factors according to the different degree of affecting. The results show that: using explain structure model in project environment analysis, we can not only find the decisive influence factor to analysis, but also provide theory support to the subsequent investment decision.

Abstract: This paper evaluates the current status of renewable energy sources integration and future trends, especially of the photovoltaics, in the interconnected power system of Greece and the power system of Crete Island, which is the largest isolated power system in Greece. Focusing on the ongoing developments and prospects, the paper investigates the impacts of the expected sufficient photovoltaic installations on the energy market and the greenhouse gas emissions, as well as the reduction in CO2 emissions costs due to the installation of photovoltaics and other renewable energy technologies.

Abstract: Green building is rapidly transforming the design and construction industry recently. Simultaneously, a growing number of industry practitioners are embracing the advantages of building information modeling (BIM). This report state some benefit we can get if we use BIM tools to analyze Green buildings and some software we use to do that. The end of this report, recommended some do's and don'ts for an architect practicing today to stay competitive in the upcoming green revolution.

Abstract: As a result of the successful implementation of the industrialization plan in 1985; Malaysia has changed from an agricultural economy into industrial based economy. The industrial sector represents the highest consuming sector across all other sectors and accounts for about 48% of all total energy demand. This paper is concerned with an energy saving, economic and environmental analysis of industrial boilers in Malaysia when using variable speed drives (VSD). The results obtained when reducing the speed of water pumps by 60% show that 4 GWh, 93.6% of energy, RM 863,375 and 2,160 ton of CO2 could be saved annually. These results represent high energy saving, environmental and economic benefits associated with this energy saving technology. ABBREVIATIONS

Abstract: Sample preparation is always a bottleneck in system for chemical analysis. In recent years, the development of methodologies for microextraction related techniques has progressed phenomenally. This review introduces and compares the various microextraction approaches for trace environmental analysis, and the advantages and disadvantages of current methods are proposed as well.
