Abstract: The laparoscopic instruments cause pain, numbness and damages to surgeons during the operation due to poor ergonomic design. Anthropometry is one of the most important factors in ergonomic design. Six hand dimensions have been measured in gripping position of fourteen subjects. A prototype handle was designed based on those anthropometric data and finally manufactured. In this study, surface EMG and angels of wrist during a simulated laparoscopic task were collected to evaluate the usability of the new designed and an available handle. After the task, a questionnaire was used to assess the comfort level of those handles subjectively. The compare of those physiological signals showed that the prototype was superior in ergonomic design. Regarding to the questionnaire, the prototype handle scored 58.08, and the current handle scored 52.22. The results showed that the prototype handle is more ergonomic designed than the current handle.

Abstract: There is no standard and sophisticated experimental teaching evaluation system in university currently even experimental teaching is an important part of practice teaching, which results in lacking of standardization and systematization during experimental teaching. Directing to the problems, this paper constructed an experimental teaching evaluation index system and proposed an evaluation method based on AHP(analytic hierarchy process) and fuzzy mathematical evaluation method, which calculates the corresponding weights for each index and evaluates teaching effectiveness using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method and comes to the evaluation results, finally this method was applied to evaluate the experimental teaching process in university fundamental computer course, which showed the validity and reliability of the evaluation system.

Abstract: This paper proposed a set of evaluation index system to assess the holistic training effectiveness of the ship-borne command and control system, the criteria and computing method of each index are provided, the weights value of each index are analyzed and calculated, and provided a set of method to integrate the evaluation index for the evaluation system. The method could be used to promote the training and combat effectiveness.

Abstract: Non-subsampled contourlet transform (NSCT) is the combination of the multi-scale analysis and multi-directional analysis in processing high-dimensional signals and has better approximation precision and better sparse description. A novel and efficient fusion method of infrared image and visible image based on NSCT is proposed. Firstly, source fusion images can be decomposed into low-frequency coefficients and high-frequency coefficients using the NSCT. For the low-frequency coefficients, the average fusion algorithm is used. For the each directional high frequency sub-band coefficients, the larger value and region average gradient maximum criterion is used to select the better coefficients for fusion. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can achieve better result compared with the traditional image fusion algorithms.

Abstract: A software quality evaluation method for control system based on the extension engineering analysis method is proposed. The evaluating index system of software quality evaluation for control system was constructed. The matter elements models were constructed, and the goodness of mechanical design scheme was computed by using goodness evaluation method based on correlation function calculation. Then the pros or cons of system to be evaluated were determined by comparing the goodness value of each evaluation grade. Finally, the practical application showed that the evaluation method was scientific, clear, and effective and had good practicality.

Abstract: The research on equipment combat resilience evaluation is an important part of equipment combat resilience. Based on analyzing the form and the function of the equipment combat resilience evaluation system, a set of intelligent and integrated evaluation system is designed and developed by using UML Object-oriented Modeling Language. The system can achieve economic, quick and effective evaluation results by applying the Set Pair Analysis .The theory result of the evaluation is consistent with the experiment result by an example of the combat resilience evaluation of certain fighter.

Abstract: A virtual instrument (VI) for measuring the coating thickness of brushplating has been developed; and then the analysis of the main uncertainty sources of the instrument has been presented, including the uncertainties of the transducer, the A/D convertor, and the DSP. Moreover the combined measurement uncertainties of theese four bocks have been estimated respectively according to Type B evaluation of “guide to the expression of uncertainty in measurement (GUM)”[1] in terms of Gram-Chariler series, while their corresponding relative measurement uncertainties have also been given. Finally, the overall relative uncertainty and the combined uncertainty of the instrument have also been provided.

Abstract: Metropolitan Cities are considered a subject crucial to the development of the territories, for "... modernize the public administration, and respond with a streamlined structure and efficient response to the growing expectations of businesses and citizens" [.They should, therefore, be able to improve the competitiveness and attractiveness of the territories also through innovative forms of governance, able to used most effectively administrative action. This paper aims to deepen the reflection on the most appropriate tools whose metropolitan cities should have in order to respond to its founding purpose.

Abstract: The Calabrian Region, in the past centuries, has been a refuge land for groups of different culture and religion from various Mediterranean areas. Today in this area it is still possible to identify three major ethnic language minorities related to historical events dating back to times past: the Greek of Calabria minority in the province of Reggio Calabria, the Waldensians one in the province of Cosenza and the Arbëreshë culture in the province of Cosenza, Crotone and Catanzaro. The existence in the same region of three "historical linguistic minorities", protected by the Law no. 482/1999, is unique in the Italian panorama: this territory is characterized by an ancient culture, an historic and architectonic heritage, and it is also inserted in an environment of great natural value, such as to create the conditions for the attempts to inclusion of this areas in the UNESCO heritage sites within the "Cultural Landscape" category. These territories are formed hierarchically by different ecosystems, deeply influenced by various factors such as the geological composition of the soil, the microclimate, the presence of the fiumare (characteristic Calabrian rivers), the geographical setting difficulties for agriculture and the use of terracing techniques to overcome the lack of large flat areas. The different combinations of these micro-ecosystems creates a complex landscape that can be observed at different scales and is determined by the human management of the various natural resources. No wonder that this landscape inspired Maurits Cornelis Escher to spend many months in this region, drawing and sketching.

Abstract: The present paper aims at developing some reflections about the evolution of the sustainable development paradigm, from the triple-bottom line approach, to the concept of smart city and to the idea of sustainable communities. The paper also explores the main features of the future of cities, which will be based on the notion of social capital.
