Abstract: Shear properties and shear modulus of an advanced 3D multi-layer glass reinforced polyester thermoformed composite material to be used for manufacture of selected car body components were evaluated. The experimental methodology is described in detail and some aspects like effects of extensometer gauge length or minimum material macrostructure length unit on final results are analysed and discussed. Shear modulus values of the material are presented.

Abstract: The Francis turbine in water power plant station is positioned at top and bottom axial hanging bearings. During reparation work the turbine was disassembled and during assembling the adjusting segments in the hanging bearings were released. In the paper are described procedures that are necessary in order to provide correct distribution of axial forces in twelve segments of upper axial hanging bearing by strain-gages applied on elastic pipes positioned under individual bearing segments.

Abstract: In the laboratory of cutting machining technologies from the “Gheorghe Asachi” Technical University of Iaşi, a series of investigations on the machinability of cast iron samples having various structures were designed and developed. The aim of the research was to know and to explain the way in which various constituents of some iron castings exert influence on the degree of wear of a milling tool made of high speed steel. Within this research, mathematical empirical models were determined, in order to calculate the cutting speed v60, considered as an indicator for the evaluation of machinability. The research allowed establishing the factors able to have a major influence on tool wear phenomenon and obtaining thus a more complete image concerning the machinability of grey iron used for castings.

Abstract: This paper is to study the wind load of rotary reticulated shell by experimental methods. The article conduct rigid model experiments to reticulated shell, measure wind pressure distribution on shell’top. Similar conditions is to meet production model:geometric similarity, flow similarity , Reynolds number equal. These results can be used as a reference for the new version of the wind load criteria.
