Abstract: The SiC ceramic membrane supports by using four different processes were prepared by extrusion molding process. Shape and distribution of pores in SiC ceramic membrane supports were observed by SEM, Meanwhile the O-ring strength was measured. By analyzing the relationship between pores’ shape, distribution and O-rings strength, the optimal data of apparent porosity and the optimal pores’ shape and distribution was obtained. By means ofusing similar particle sizes, particles modification, controlling drying rate of the green body and controlling the contents of glass phase in neck part between SiC particles formed at the high temperature, the SiC ceramic membrane supports with the O-ring strength greater than 20 MPa were prepared.

Abstract: A new kind of binder was developed in extrusion molding. It included four ingredients: ethylene glycol acetate (60%~85% (mass/mass, as follows)), ethyl cellulose (10%~30%), ethylene glycol polyoxyethylene ether (5%~10%), polyethylene glycol stearate (0.8%~3%). The components of binder were compatible with thermodynamic conditions, so the binder was well-distributed in molecule level. The new binder is actual nontoxic, secure and environmentally friendly. The forming property of the binder is so excellent that it can load 54% ~ 56% (vol. /vol.) cemented carbide powders. The rods produced by this new binder provide high strength, stable performance, homogeneous microstructure.

Abstract: This article provides an abrasive forming machine, the working principle is that: deliver and squeeze out the semi-solid abrasives which after the mixing treatment through the screw, and set up the same cross-sectional shape and size double outlet mould on the export side, Strip abrasives exported from the extrusion cut into granules by pneumatic cutting device, to realize palletizing requirement. Screw conveyor extrusion mechanism, pneumatic cutting device, combined with appropriate travel switch, Electrical control system, to realize the logical relationship of processing requirements, And compared to double exports abrasive machine, Work efficiency increased 1 time.

Abstract: The silicon carbide was extruded by the batch and sintered under Nitrogen atmosphere using phenolic resin as the main organic plasticizer. The effect of phenolic resin contents on plasticity of the batch, extrusion force and density of the green bodies and the effect of the solidifying law on mechanical properties of products were studied in this paper. The results are as follows: The density and bending strength of sintered bodies reach 3.11 g/cm3 and 320Mpa with 13.6wt% plasticizer content, the extrusion moding can significantly improve the production efficiency and properties of silicon carbide ceramic.

Abstract: Nowadays, natural fibre-thermoplastics composites (NFPC) are replacing the conventional wood and timber due to its lower cost, avoid deforestation, higher strength-to-weight ratio and resistant to termites. These composites can be utilized for non-structural components of a building system such as decking, wall cladding, floor tiles and window frame. A natural fiber/plastic composite was produced by extrusion molding process to create a wall cladding profile. The raw materials used for the composites are 40% kenaf fibre and 60% polypropylene (PP). These materials were compounded through a twin-screw extruder and then cut into pellets. The moisture content found in the kenaf/PP composites (KPC) pellets was 2.89%. Therefore, the pellets required to be oven dried every time right before entering the hopper of the extruder. The temperature along the barrel was set to 180°C and the die head temperature is set to 165°C. At the end of the extrusion molding process, pressurized air was used for cooling the profile. Then, samples of the wall cladding were taken back to the laboratory for product quality assurance. Measurements of the samples show that the product experiences 3% of shrinkage in term of width and 1% of shrinkage in term of thickness. Water absorption test indicates an increase of 13.6% of weight after 24 hours immersion of water. Impact strength test was also conducted on the wall cladding samples and the mean result was 2.55 kJ/m². Tensile test on the extruded KPC product indicates a low tensile strength at 4.51 MPa and tensile modulus of 205.01 MPa. The sample also proven to be light weight as the density of the material was found to be 0.618g/cm³.

Abstract: Extrusion screw that is used on market of present extrusion molding catapult is divided by
single-axle extrusion screw and multi-axles extrusion screw. Simulation technique of screw that is
used in extrusion molding has become so far various. Consist of that analyze third dimension model
and that analyze two-dimension model but most Analysis that display dynamic characteristic of
screw inside of heat and flow in detail was not until present. Transfer of polymer site that typical
single-axle extrusion screw that is analysis target of this treatise is mixed in most melting state is
good, but has some controversial points. First melting transfer of balance that is not done difficult.
Second melting causes effect that weaken mechanical special quality of screw by power excessive last
month if heighten the screw speed to increase amount of done balance. Third Screw dynamic
characteristic symptoms by thermal expansion that happen in screw of heater is fallen.
