Abstract: In this work, the experimental research was carried out on the processing of the cutting surface of a grinding wheel with a ceramic bond via continuous laser radiation with a wavelength of 10.6 μm. The influence of laser radiation power, processing speed on the depth and width of the obtained cut was investigated. A full factorial experiment was carried out with varying factors at two levels. In the form of a regression equation, a mathematical model of the effect of radiation power and processing speed on the output parameters of the process is obtained. Using Fisher's criterion, it is shown that the resulting equation adequately describes the process under the study. The analysis of the regression equation makes it possible to assess the relative influence of each factor and the effects of the interaction of factors on the depth and width of the cut on the surfaces of the grinding wheel.

Abstract: Globally, the construction industry is a catalyst for economic development. This is because it is the bedrock for economic activities. Over the years, the construction industry has been criticised for under-performing which brings about a decline in productivity. In order to improve construction project performance for infrastructural delivery, there are factors to be considered, inter alia, construction material related factors, construction machinery related factors, and project management related factors. In achieving this objective, a questionnaire survey was expedited to purposive practioners to evaluate the relative importance index of these factors. The paper reveals that in the category of construction material related factors, unsuitable locations for material and late delivery of construction materials topped the list with a MS value of 4.53 and 4.15, respectively; in the category of construction machinery related factors, poor maintenance of tools and machinery and difficulties in hiring construction tools and machinery topped the list with a MS value of 4.54 and 4.50, respectively; while in the category of project management related factors, efficient time management and project quality management topped the list with a MS value of 4.83 and 4.70, respectively. In addition, performance improvement factors were also highlighted.

Abstract: In Malaysia, housing is divided into four categories, which are low cost housing, low medium cost housing, medium cost housing, and high cost housing. Demand and supply of housing is a major challenge to the country because it is one catalyst for social economic structure. The purpose of this research is to identify the factors of low-cost housing demand in Malaysia and to confirm the factors among experts in construction industry players in Malaysia. All factors are identifying from previous studies. Questionnaires are distributed among experts in construction industry players in Malaysia for confirmation. The data from previous studies are analyzed using frequency analysis table and the ranking of the factors are determined based on the highest frequency. Data from the questionnaires then analyzed using "Mean Rank" method. Ranking of the factors are determined based on the mean value adopted from SPSS 16 software. 27 factors of low cost housing demand are determined based on the previous studies. Results from previous studies shows that housing prices are on the highest ranking. 11 factors in the lowest ranking which are number of household factors, quality homes, adequacy, subsidies, marital status, mortgage rates, functions, benefits, job, family life, and culture. Meanwhile, results among experts in construction industry players in Malaysia show that affordable housing factors are in the highest ranking and marital status at the lower ranking. 92.1% of experts agreed that the factors are significant. Therefore, all the factors can be applied as low cost housing demand factors in Malaysia. Keywords:factors, low cost housing, demand,

Abstract: This paper uses the industrialization production device to study the factors that affecting the performance of fly ash products. Through adopting the appropriate material ratio and technological parameters, the load-bearing standard bricks with large admixing amount of fly ash were successful developed. The mixing amount of fly ash has reached about 50%, and the bricks were got the production application in the industrialized device which annual output is 400 million pieces. The product performances are referred to the requirements specified in JC 239-2001, and the compressive strength reach 16.6 MPa and the breaking strength reach 3.8 MPa. The product has the low thermal conductivity and qualified freeze-thaw resistance, dry shrinkage. The products were got widespread popularization and application in the building construction of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Abstract: The paper discussed the extraction process of rubusoside from Rubus suavissimus using a new technique named cellulase pretreatment approach. First, the parameters of cellulose which generate the optimized condition for the extraction of rubusoside from Rubus suavissimus were identified. Under the most optimal condition, the extraction efficiency is maximal. The parameters include pH value, temperature and enzyme-substrate ratio. Second, single factor experiment and an orthogonal test then could be conducted to obtain the optimized condition for the extraction process with the assistances of cellulose. The parameters under the optimized condition were determined as following: ethanol as solvent, 1.2% cellulose, 40°C, pH 4.8 and duration 25 minutes. The result shows that the extraction efficiency of rubusoside is 10.81%.

Abstract: Southern understory forage, as a new economic model, had achieved sustainable development and rational use of energy resources and forestry. Understory forage briquetting was not only suitable for storage, transport and commercialization, it was but also beneficial to the quality of hay and to income increases of farmers. This paper investigated the different briquetting factors and nutritional value in southern understory grass such as ryegrass, sudan grass, corn grass and bahia grass. Meanwhile, taking ryegrass as an example, the changes of nutrients before and after briquetting has also been investigated.

Abstract: High electricity cost generated from the residents dispersion and the market failure resulted from the natural monopoly of the electricity supply industry make the traditional pricing theory which is based on the cost, market and competition suffer challenge in the decision of residential electricity price (REP). The paper analyzes the main factors influencing residential electricity price policy (REPP) to assist the relevant government decisions from perspectives of the residential affordability, the average electricity sales price, alternative energy and other policies. Furthermore, the conduction path of the factors influencing and deciding REPP is analyzed and a cause-effect diagram is produced with system dynamics software.

Abstract: This paper reviews the existing Chinese rural residential electricity price policies, including their features and forming foundations, then analyses the main factors affecting the current Chinese rural residential electricity price by considering electricity generation, transmission and demands, respectively. With the gray relational analysis and the statistical data, the key factors currently affecting Chinese rural residential electricity price can be given as: the average of air conditioners per household, the average lending rates, rural residential per capita net incomes, natural gas price, price of coals for power generation, per capita electricity consumptions in daily life, total electricity consumption, total electricity production, electricity infrastructure investment and cross-subsidies in the electricity sector. Furthermore, the conduction path of the key factors influencing and deciding the electricity price is analyzed and a cause-effect diagram is produced with system dynamics software.

Abstract: Under the age of information technology, learners’ demotivators present different traits. The paper conducted a study on a Beijing Local Municipal Senior High School which is city-owned and does not enjoy too much priorities and performed average among all Beijing Middle High schools in terms of college entrance exam rate which would be a barometer of all the high schools in the city. The paper tried to figure out 7 demotivators that distracted middle school students in their process of studying English as a foreign language: learner-level factor, teacher-related competence factor, practicability factor, teacher’s behaviour factor, career plan factor, text length factor and parents’ stress factor. The implication of the SPSS showed that learner related demotivation is one of the biggest demotivators while in the western countries teacher factor is one of the biggest factors demotivating students according to some studies. There is no significant difference between the self-reported less motivated learners and more motivated learners among the middle school students.
