Abstract: Gear pump has simple structure, long service life, strong self-priming capacity, high working reliability and other characteristics, which is widely used in various kinds of mechanical equipment. In order to study the influence of gear rotational speed on the internal fluid flow field change rule, the computational fluid dynamics software Fluent was used to simulate the gear pump flow field, while dynamic grid technique was carried on the numerical simulation of the gear pump under different rotation speed, and flow field characteristics were analysed. The results showed that with the increase of gear rotation speed, the area of pump fluid velocity mutation decreased, the area of pressure mutation reduced, and the larger volume of fluid closed to balance.

Abstract: Built-in VOF model and k-ε turbulence model in Fluent were used to simulate the evaporation and diffusion of the pool formed by leaked UDMH on a cliff. Different situations in three wind speeds were calculated, and the diffusion mode and concentration distribution law were analyzed. The results show that there is a large poisoned area formed on the cliff, and people under the cliff should escape to upwind immediately and the emergency personnel should access the accident spot along the back of the cliff.

Abstract: The principle of the design of the wind-tunnel contraction is introduced; several typical contraction curves provided by former researchers are collected and compared. Using commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software-Fluent: Fluent. The flied quality of different contraction curves using a 3-D axial symmetric k-ε model is compared and some suggestions on the selection of the curves to different requirement are made. Witozinsky curve and Batchelor-Shaw curve prone to counter pressure at the entrance area, serious energy loss, the speed of export poor uniformity. The uniformity of the flow field is a little better of the improved 3-power curve (Xm = 0.5).5-power curve (Xm=0.5, n=7) shows low turbulence degrees, a certain advantage in energy consumption and strong stability.

Abstract: Based on the research of air-duct system in ARJ21-700, insulation design is studied in this paper. Considering its specific characteristics, CFD method based on FLUENT is taken to its thermodynamic calculation. The result shows that diversion tunnels along the pipeline have remarkable effects on the skin temperature distribution of the heat-insulating layer, while differ with diversion tunnels’ amounts. These effects should be adopted into the engineering algorithm and these works would be helpful to the design and optimization of the air-duct system.

Abstract: A industrial design method based the numerical analysis is proposed to meet appearance modeling of airborne evaporation cycle system. The model is analyzed by using FLUENT. It better simulates the external flow field, gets the surface pressure distribution and velocity distribution of the flow field, and determines the aerodynamic characteristics of the system, which provides a new way for system modeling design.

Abstract: Research on the thermodynamic behavior of sand beds was carried out using a commercial computational dynamic package. The work involved simulating, with the use of the Ergun equation, the air flow through a two-dimensional bubbling bed reactor to predict the bed character whilst considering the major effective function (particle size, particle density, bed height and reactor width). The Minimum Fluidization Velocity (Umf) values were then calculated before the optimum value of Umf needed to ensure a workable Bubbling Fluidize Bed Combustor (BFBC) system. The effects of using different Umf values on the flow behavior were also investigated using the numerical approach at different times. The results from these investigations indicate that the bubbling region in the fluidized bed combustion can be correlated to the sand bed expansion with minimum errors and assist in enhancing the combustion efficiency by supplying the required volume of oxygen into the system.
