Abstract: Because of the extraction difficulties from brines in China, it is necessary to take advantage of the lepidolite resources, driven by the huge economic benefit and social benefit requirements. Several factories use refined lepidolite to produce lithium carbonate in Yichun city because of the rare metals and high price of battery-grade lithium carbonate. The primary separation of lepidolite from complex silicate minerals is froth flotation. In this paper, the froth flotation process for production of refined lepidolite from Ta & Nb waste minerals in Yichun city and in Yifeng town is discussed.

Abstract: The fly ash has a wide range of particles size and has a large amount of unburned carbon. As a raw material, the presence of the large particles and the unburned carbon will reduce the quality of the product. How to improve the utilization of fly ash has become one of focus points. In this work, hydrocyclone was adopted for classification after decarburization in a flotation column. Hydrocyclone showed a very good classification performance. In overflow, the particles were all smaller than 85μm. About 97.34% of the particles were smaller than 25 μm. Different fly ash content was selected to investigate its influence on the decarburization. The results showed that it made no obvious differences.

Abstract: Dynamics of bubble in froth flotation have been studied. The purpose of this research is to study the effects of pine oil on the dynamics of small bubble in froth flotation. Dynamics of bubble is an important parameter which determines flotation eficiency. Acrylic pipe was setup as a flotation column and equipped with image capture and lighting equipments. Later on, bubble was generated by a nozzle. A different nozzle size and pine oil concentrations were used in this experiment. Eventually, the dynamics of the bubble were captured by camera and the images were then processed by image processing software. Therefore, bubbles size and its position can be determined. The results indicate that bubble movement can be divided into three stages: acceleration, deceleration and terminal velocity. It is also indicated that pine oil modify surface tension; hence the bubble size become smaller and its velocy decrease. Moreover, pine oil induces the bubble to reach terminal velocity faster then bubble in water wthout pine oil. Therefore, it can be concluded that pine oil affects bubble dynamics significantly.

Abstract: Tin gravity slime tailings of Datun mineral processing plant in south-eastern China contains fine and ultrafine cassiterite. Tin recovery from the slime tailings was studies in the presence of different flotation reagents. A flotation process has been used on a laboratory scale to investigate the effect of various reagents such as collectors, auxiliary collector, activators, ect., and theirs dosages in neutral flotation environment. To reach an optimum tin recovery, different dosages of the reagents were also studied. Due to cassiterite is friable and a large amount of fines and slimes were generated. Usually de-sliming is used to prevent slime coating and to increase the recovery of tin. However, analyses have shown that fine particles in the sample mostly contain tin, thus de-sliming was not suggested. By applying the process, ultrafine cassiterite can be efficiently recovered from the tailings slime by one rougher process, and the concentrate assaying 1.20% Sn with a recovery of 89.10% was obtained.

Abstract: Froth images are pre-processed, which are acquired at the flotation laboratory. Digital image analysis techniques are used to analysize these froth images and their grey histogram and to extract statistical texture features of those froth images. Finally, the relation model for statistical texture features of those froth images and flotation index is established by RBF neural networks. A simulation showed that the relation model is higher precise

Abstract: The status of coking coal resources and the utilization of the middlings of coking coal are analyzed in this paper, and the necessity and practicability of middlings’ rewashing is held up. Middlings of BaBao Industrial Park Coal Preparation Plant is used as sample of experiment test, through size analysis and float-and-sink test, the feasibility of middlings’ rewash is demonstrated. Two kindes of separation processes are presented : ⑴crushing-coarse and thin slime are separated separately; ⑵crushing-grinding-froth flotation. Scheme 2 is appropriate for the separation of Babao middings.Experiments confirm that the scheme 2 would be more suitable for the middlings’ separation, and the cleaned coal’s production rate of is 31.88% , the ash content is 14.4%. So there are high social benefits and economic benefits. Reclean middlings of coking coal is a new direction for the protection of coking coal resources, in the meantime, it comply with the environmental requirements and is an important measure to realize the sustainable development.
