Abstract: This article describes selected contaminants of the fuel system which substantially affect the operation of fuel injection equipment of self-ignition engines. The authors present a simple method of identifying biological contaminants (bacteria and fungi), which can be used with no need for laboratory tests during a vessel’s voyage at sea.

Abstract: Biodiesel fuel can be used in diesel engine in accordance to the standard provided. However, a significant issue with biodiesel fuel was noted. Some of the fuel quality were outside the accepted range of the specification stated in the standard. Thus, this can be lead to the problem of utilization them in diesel engine. Moreover, material compatibility is the main concern whenever the fuel composition is altered in the fuel system. A large variety of metals and non-metals are worn as the material of construction for the various components of the fuel system. Introduction of biodiesel fuel often generate many problems in the components of the fuel system. This paper attempts to present the compatibility issue related to the use of biodiesel with automotive materials.

Abstract: To meet the demand for long-endurance capabilities,MALE (medium-altitude long-endurance) and HALE (high-altitude long-endurance) UAVs are generally equipped with wing tanks to increase fuel loads. MALE and HALE UAVs use relatively larger aspect ratio wing to provide larger wing area and smaller wing thickness, so that the relative thickness of wing tank is smaller and its center of gravity is further away from the aircraft center of gravity, and the moment of inertia is greater. As a result of aerodynamic and structural arrangement, the horizontal and vertical manipulation of safety control and balance of such UAVs is very sensitive, thus making higher demand for the fuel system. This paper describes and summarizes the typical fuel system design of MALE and HALE UAVs for fuel transfer and restructuring design, primarily focusing on fault condition, reconfiguration and the center of gravity control, and providing reference for fuel system design.

Abstract: Fuel system is the most vulnerable system on fixed wing aircraft. When penetrated by threat propagators, it is liable to be damaged by combustion and explosion. Thus, fire/explosion suppression for fuel system are important measures to improve the aircrafts survivability. In this paper, the whole aircraft vulnerability model which consists of aircraft configuration, structure, and systems is constructed by CATIA software, the basic steps for vulnerability quantitative computation are descried, and the computing formulas of three kill modes are presented. The vulnerability of one aircraft before and after adopting fire/explosion suppression measures are analyzed. The results show that fire/explosion suppression measures can effectively decrease the aircrafts vulnerable area and kill probability.

Abstract: This paper will put forward a device installed into the fuel system, which can use the sliding electric arc to electrolyze the natural gas to make hydrogen and then blend them in the fuel pipe for final combustion. This device can help to make a new type of HCNG engine fuel system, which electrolyses the single fuel (natural gas) partly to make appropriate-rate hydrogen for combustion. And in this paper, this new fuel system will be described in detail. The picture of sliding electric arc is shown in the end of this paper.

Abstract: By the analysis and comparison of LPG motorcycle and LPG automobile, the similarities and differences of them are expounded. Based on the components and structure of LPG automobile fuel system, the LPG motorcycle gas phase positive pressure fuel system and LPG motorcycle liquid phase positive pressure fuel system are designed, and the advantages and disadvantages are analyzed and compared. The engine cylinder cover is enhanced and setted maze channels, so the liquid state LPG can be pre-heated using the remaind head of engine before enter the decompressor, the frozen of decompressor is solved effectively. The road trial and testing show that the LPG motorcycle liquid positive pressure fuel system is simple in structure, stabilize and reliable, the comprehensive performance can satisfied the demand of national standard.

Abstract: In the result of corrosion phenomena in automotive metallic fuel tank, a layer of rust which consists
of hard and micronized oxide grits with low cohesion and adhesion could appear. Through gasoline
delivery from fuel tank to chamber of combustion, these hard and micronized grits could cause
erosion and service problem for the components in this rout.
In concept of after sale services, some defective parts such as fuel tank, injector pump,
nozzle of injector and etc, needs to be repaired or changed due to the corrosion.
In this article in order to improvement of corrosion resistance, some investigations into the
recognition and assessment of corrosion in which relative these parts have been done. The corrosion
mechanisms such as galvanic corrosion, general corrosion have been recognized. Based on this
information modification and improvement are concentrated in field of welding, plating showed
considerable improvement in corrosion resistance.
