Abstract: When dealing with a specific development issue, designers have at their disposal a wide range of skills and their implicit knowledge, enabling them to conceptualize the appropriate solution pertaining to the problem. In developing and applying these solutions, the efficiency of the designers is often dependent on their appropriate use of analysis and creativity skills, their experience, as well as the existing knowledge stored in the company or other accessible databases. This paper presents a case study on a containers transport mechanism in order to highlight the activities, used tools and the advantages considered for the functional design based on functional-constructive knowledge stored in databases as a main phase of a new advanced product design process.

Abstract: Various architectures exposing certain phases of the design process have been developed. A closer analysis of the presented timelines is leading more to postpone the design solution rather than advancing it in the early phases. This paper advances a new architecture for the design process with the main emphasize on the product functional design, based on functional-constructive knowledge stored in databases, and on the principle of selecting design solutions in an incipient phase and developing them during the further design process stages.

Abstract: Different works on the functional design and functional vocabularies area have been accomplished. The function has become the key element of the design process of a product and many researchers have focussed their work on developing functional taxonomies which can be used as a basis for functional design. One of the main disadvantages on the research performed in this domain is that a clear correlation between proposed functions and a product part or structure cannot be shown. This paper presents a new configuration of a functional taxonomy which can be easier correlated with the structure of the product, as an input of a knowledge database for supporting engineering design activity, as well a structure of the database system and a preview of its content.

Abstract: An intelligent static traffic management system is brought forward combing with application environment and requirement analysis. Functional design, logical framework design and physical framework design are then proposed and analyzed. At last, the system is applied in practice and functions of PDA payment, real-time information dissemination, parking guidance and parking data analysis are all achieved based on the Internet and GIS.

Abstract: Sports Course management system is an important part of the sports discipline management, construction and improvement of management systems has important implications for guiding sports activities. In this paper, college sports course management system has been designed, first elaborated the technology is mainly used in the system design, then analyze the functional modules of the system, including: students elective course, sports scores, sports course, sports activities, sports facilities, student physique health standards, sports health, teacher-students communication, 8 management module. The system basically achieve the student's online information search, elective course, teacher fully grasp the student information, entry student achievement and school administrators to manage the course information release, the sports course information management and other functions.

Abstract: In the face of chemical disasters, the emergency rescue team must adopt effective methods to comprehensively monitor and control the disaster site and rapidly and dynamically obtain the information of disaster site. Using robots can break through the limitation of complex chemical disaster site on human being, meet the requirements for rapidness, efficiency, accuracy and instantaneity, achieve access to information on the disaster site, give assistance to emergency rescue and realize scientific response decision. Starting from the rescue difficulty factors of chemical disaster site, this paper analyzes the advantages of emergency response robots, constructs the functional design pattern of emergency response robots and conducts the functional designs on emergency response robots according to characteristics of three typical types of chemical disaster site.

Abstract: Biochemical indicators have the role of monitoring for competitive sports level data, the use of biochemical indicators to assess the fitness and health status of athletes, the results is more accurate. In this paper, a system designed to provide technical support for the athletes and biochemical indicators of management systems development. First, choose a representative biochemical indicators, and indicators are described; then, processed the database logical structure design, including athlete information, sample information, biochemical markers, and other related fields; finally, functional design, including data entry, data modification, data query, data reporting, system management and other main function module. Using results of this study can give full play to the role of technology in competitive sports, to achieve scientific training.

Abstract: With analyzing the environmental status of law enforcement and job demands, the environmental protection mobile enforcement system was developed based on Android platform and SOA architecture. Using this system, the ability of environmental law enforcement supervision and management was improved, and various environmental administrative law enforcement issues were solved under the limited environmental management resource. Taking Shanxi Province as an example, the environmental protection mobile enforcement system was designed and developed in term of data integration, sharing resources, standardize management and function expansion. This system can been connected to the environmental Internet of Things system which was proved practical.

Abstract: Weightless and narrow environment inside the spacecraft and on-orbit work require a lot in astronauts’ IVA clothing. Motion analysis suggests one-piece overall design should base on the curled stance. Toileting structure design which can overcome the one-piece overall’s toileting shortcoming especially for female is essential. 2 female IVA clothing with different structures are developed, then toileting time consuming test and static range-of-motion test are operated to select a better design. Result shows that style 2 performs better when toileting, and not only fits better, but also can provide the same flexibility compare with style 1, which integrates the protection, fitness and mobility.

Abstract: This paper gives the structural model of modern distance education platform of distance education ,compares the implementation method and functional framework of the platform of distance education of J2EE architecture with that of service-oriented architecture (SOA) , and proposes the service-oriented architecture (SOA) as an intelligent way of distance education platform architecture. According to CELTS-1 standard, the necessary hardware topology for intelligent distance education platform and the detailed functional design of main module of the platform are given.
