Abstract: Traffic congestion detection is the basis of dynamic traffic control and real time guidance. This study proposes a fuzzy logic based traffic congestion identification method. The components of a fuzzy logic inference are firstly formulated. According to such information as the speed and occupancy of freeway traffic flow, and the weather conditions on the freeway, a congestion identification method based on fuzzy logic inference is then designed. Gauss curves are assumed for the membership functions of the input and output variables, and 45 fuzzy rules are also established. Finally, the congestion identification method is simulated. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the above method. Fuzzy logic inference is suitable for estimating the traffic congestion index.

Abstract: This paper introducts the designing of a remote assessment information collection system based on fuzzy logic inference. The system has a 6-freedom double-eyes vision robot to catch vision information, and a group of wearable sensors to acquire biomechanical signals. Taking the speed of information collection system for example, analyses and designs the struct and the rule of fuzzy control. The remote auto control of the telerehabilitation information collection system was achieved. Rehabilitation professionals can semi-automatically practice an assessment program via Internet. The results show that the smart device, including the robot and the sensors, can improve the quality of remote assessment, and reduce the complexity of operation at a distance.

Abstract: According to the complex characteristics of grinding process, a method of fuzzy internal model control (FIMC) is put forward. By adjusting the filter parameters t in internal model control on line, the problem that the control performance is poor in the condition of internal model mismatching, and through simulation, it shows that this method has short adjusting time, small overshoot, and also is feasible and effective.

Abstract: Construction induced vibration may cause damage of buildings, disturbance of occupants, and sensitive equipments in buildings surrounding a construction site. The prediction of the construction vibration risk is essential for making decisions before the determination of construction method. Previous methods focus on the prediction based on quantitative analysis. The framework of a new method using fuzzy logic to predict the construction vibration risk is proposed in this paper. This method integrates the knowledge and experience from experts and simulates the inference process of human brain using Mamdani fuzzy inference principle. It is a convenient and economical method when used to provide support for project manager making decisions in primary phase of project.
