Abstract: New production techniques need to be developed in the clothing industry to satisfy the demands of customers. In this paper, a new algorithm, which can transform 3D surface of the prototype garment to 2D cutting pattern, was developed. The corresponding feature points with 2D prototype pattern were defined manually using 3D cursor on the body in advance. Further 3D wireframe of garment prototype was created by connecting feature points. The final pattern of the prototype was obtained by flattening geometrically 3D wireframe of each zone. The visual assessment was also made and proved the algorithm validity. This approach improved the flattened pattern practicality.

Abstract: Virtual garment design and flexible fabric simulation are the major research focuses in the field of computer graphics. The two-dimension contour design and triangular meshes generation of garments are the basis of 3D virtual garment stitching and dynamic simulation. In the development environment of VC++ and OpenGL, in this paper three kinds of design methods are used to obtain the 2D contour of garments. Based on the regular grid method, the coordinate perturbation technique and the improved Delaunay triangulation method are used to realize the triangular meshes generation of the 2D garment. In order to improve the efficiency and readability of the algorithm, the standard template library technology is also adopted. The experimental results show that this method can achieve the requirement of the real-time simulation.

Abstract: The development and research of the automatic generation of expert system of Garment Cad Pattern will change the traditional garment pattern design concept and design tools to enable advanced CAD technology and expertise in China's garment industry work together, which will greatly improve the level of the software sustainable development and intellectualization. It will be proved through constant practice to help improve the professional level of the garment pattern CAD software, create new ways of professional popularization and application which are suitable for China's national conditions.
