Abstract: This paper discusses the feasibility of geothermal power as a sustainable solution within the agri-food chain focusing on relational to global decarbonization plans. As the world shifts focus towards sourcing Renewable energy for minimal emission of greenhouse gases. Geothermal energy is receiving a lot of attention for its reliability. The Geotto system, which was piloted in the Eburru community of Kenya, showed how geothermal energy – IoT – AI interaction could be utilized in agricultural economies to the optimal level. The project of developing locally-owned incubators powered by geothermal energies helped to increase the hatch ratios as well as the energy, but not the fossil fuel consumption. The cross-sectional utilization of this resource in, for instance, crop drying, greenhouses, and fish farming was discussed as a prospect. Some of the challenges that were observed in Geotto’s case are technical barriers and the opposition to the adoption of new technology by the public and relevant authorities. The Geotto team tackled these problems in cooperation with the community and local government. From this pilot study, it is evident that geothermal power holds promise and value to be pursued as a long-term investment in the pursuit of higher food productivity with less pollution in addition to aiding the case for decarbonization. The pilot findings indicate that the kind of systems being implemented can likely be extended to other agricultural segments to support grassroots initiatives and strengthen world economies.

Abstract: Space heating and cooling using geothermal heat exchangers is a promising environmentally friendly green energy solution. Modeling these energy storage systems is crucial for optimizing their design and operation. In this context, the present study consists of numerically investigating the effects of various physical properties, including thermal conductivity, density, and specific heat capacity of each material, as well as flow velocity, on the process of heat transfer in vertical geothermal heat exchangers using coaxial pipes to optimize their energy performance. Numerical simulations were carried out using Gambit-Fluent software. Different materials that make up the coaxial heat exchanger structure studied were tested to highlight their effects on the progress of heat flux and temperature. Thermal and fluid mechanics aspects were also studied. At the end of this study, a comparative analysis was carried out using the U-tube geothermal heat exchanger. The results indicate that the heat exchanger using a coaxial tube demonstrates superior thermal efficiency compared to the U-tube configuration. It has been found that using a low velocity with an appropriate selection of tube, grout, and soil materials results in enhanced dynamic exchanges, thereby enhancing the thermal efficiency of the geothermal exchanger.

Abstract: Faced with two problems of energy shortage and environmental pollution, people focus on the development of renewable energy resources. Geothermal energy is the most realistic and competitive one among the renewable energy resources. Besides its reserves is abundant. Geothermal energy is widely used in many fields. Geothermal power generation technologies are introduced and whether dry stream power generation method, ORC or KC method is elected depends on the temperature of geothermal water. Geothermal heating is the simplest, most economic and most effective utilization of low temperature geothermal energy. There are also various applications in industry for geothermal energy. Geothermal water is more and more popular in health care. In addition, geothermal energy is used in planting and breeding. Cascade utilization is the most promising way for geothermal energy because the energy efficiency is the highest. Two comprehensive utilization projects are discussed in this paper. Then ground source heat pump is introduced.

Abstract: Geothermal energy project in Tengchong has to be economically feasible to be implemented. The cost analysis is necessary to be made in order to obtain a vision for the investors, so that they could find out if the project is advisable regarding cost in short and long term. As a new kind of clean energy contributing to the electricity, geothermal energy development in Tengchong will be a long-term strategy.

Abstract: Pre-school facilities are considered to be specific buildings in the matter of construction and renovation. Space-planning features in design for pre-school facilities create special conditions for solar power use to ensure heat and power supply. The article deals with estimation of incoming solar power in reference to the surfaces oriented in different cardinal directions under the weather conditions of the city of Saint-Petersburg (Russia) and the city of Nish (Serbia). A model of how to ensure power supply for a kindergarten of the city of Nish is presented on the basis of the calculations analysis. The cases with regard to completed projects designed to use renewable energy sources in order to supply pre-school facilities with energy in other weather conditions are given herein.

Abstract: The East Slovak Basin Area is from genetic viewpoint area which represents longitudinal intramount depression filled by Neogene sediments and volcanics. This basin morphologically represents north-eastern promontory of Pannonian Basins System. During more than 50 years of systematic oil-geological exploration a quantity of knowledge was gathered here, as on geological structure and hydrocarbon fields as on thermal setting and geothermal waters. It is a case of nearly 20 000 analysed water samples and temperature measurements in the depth span from surface up to 4200m what enables us to distinguish in this region several prospective geothermal areas.

Abstract: Geothermal heating system with horizontal wells doesnt extract ground water and is not affected by the distribution of geothermal resources, which is a closed-loop and environment-friendly system. In this paper, the heat exchange between the horizontal well and rock in the geothermal heating system with horizontal wells has been studied, the heat transfer model has been built, and the heat transfer at different flow rates of water has been calculated. The results show that the outlet temperature of the horizontal well increases with the decrease of the flow rate, and the flux of heat exchange decreases with the decrease of the flow rate. The outlet temperature and the flux of heat transfer have basically the same tendency with time. The three stages are respectively rapidly change stage, moderate change stage and linear change stage.

Abstract: Geothermal energy provides the renewable energy sector with an opportunity to produce base load power, whilst meeting current government objectives of many countries in relation to greenhouse gas emission and renewable energy portfolio standards. The utilization of geothermal power develops well in many developed countries, such as America, Japan, France, Italy, Iceland, etc. But it is still at an early stage in China. The development of alternative energy such as geothermal energy is as a basic national policy. It is also an important issue for China how to make good use of geothermal resource currently. In this paper, according to the distribution, we introduce the development and utilization of Chinese geothermal resources.
