Abstract: This paper is about the study on desanding technology based on the characteristics of the produced fluid and the principle of the suspension gravity settling. Proposed a new type of three-phase separator by analyzing the species of gravity desanding and the main influencing factors of sedimentation (including particle properties, liquid properties, solid-liquid ratio, containers and stir) .The inclined plane is substituted by a plane on the internal components of the container, which makes the sand deposits easily and then removed by desander. The design principle of the desander is based on the principle of jetting pump (the desanding technology in airtight container). It has been applied to oil filed successfully and provides a reference for further study.

Abstract: The dynamic behavior of small particles in fixed spaces is of interest in various fields of science and engineering. In the paper, a population balance equation for particles in fixed space is established to describe the dynamic behavior of system involving simultaneous coagulation, diffusion deposition, gravity sedimentation and ventilation. Related Parameters are decided by experiments for the convenience of achieving numerical solution of the equation. Finally, the temporal evolution of particles population in fixed space is simulated and discussed under different conditions.

Abstract: The sedimentation in the field of gravity provides a practicable and scientific principle for solid-liquid separation of ultra-fine particles. According to the fractal theory, a model of ultra-fine particles for gravity sedimentation was developed, considering the aggregation effects and particles interference, and the aggregation promoting coefficient was put forward. The fractal structure and FSD of aggregates were also analyzed. Furthermore, the comparison between theoretical and experimental values of ultra-fine particles sedimentation showed that the two results were more consistent with each other for the suspension concentration ranging from 1 wt% to 5 wt%.
