Abstract: A new kind of alumina fiber-based expandable insulation material was designed using expandable graphite, alumina fiber and aluminum phosphate adhesives, and fabricated through wet mixing, vacuum suction filter, pressure drying. This material had 100%-300% of volume expansion ratio under temperatures from 400 to 1000°C, well heat insulation performance and mechanical property after expansion. Due to the special expanding property of expandable graphite, the heating mode will seriously impact on the properties of material. In this paper, the influence of two different heating-up modes on the material properties had been studied. At slowly heating-up mode, the expansion ratio almost maintained at 115%, and the compression strength increased visibly comparing with fast heating-up. At one-side heating-up mode, the expansion ratio was lower than the all-side heating-up mode, which respectively were 164.9 % and 226.9% at 800°C, and the compression strength increased slightly because of the extension of heat treatment time.

Abstract: This paper presents an experimental study of the evaporation of a sessile water-sodium chlorides solution drop to open atmosphere on the solid substrate (anodized aluminum) under the varying heat flux. The main parameters defining drop profile, i. e., contact diameter, contact angle, and height of the drop have been obtained. Specific evaporation rate has been calculated. According to the data analysis it was found, that the sessile water-sodium chlorides solution drop with the highest concentration (16.7%) evaporates in the "reverse depinning" mode. So, there is movement of the contact line in the direction of increasing the surface occupied by the drop. The sessile water and water-sodium chlorides solution drop with 4.8% and 9.1% concentration evaporates in the contact line pinning mode. The influence of the initial concentration of the evaporated solution on the contact angle and the specific evaporation rate was found out.

Abstract: Temperature and enthalpy of phase changes taking place in PCM (Phase Change Material)-modified plasters within their heating and cooling exposure are studied in the paper. The studied plasters are composed of hydrated lime, pozzolan admixture, silica sand, water, and encapsulated parrafinic wax that is used as PCM. The studied materials are characterized by bulk density, matrix density, and total open porosity. The temperature of phase changes, heat of fusion and crystallization are evaluated by DSC (Difference Scanning Calorimetry) analysis that is performed in inert nitrogen atmosphere. Experimental data reveal a substantial improvement of heat storage capacity of PCM-modified plasters as compared to the reference material without PCM.

Abstract: As one of the effective ways of building energy saving, behavior energy-saving has the positive promotion function regarding the heating energy saving for the heat users of central heating system. The effect of behavior energy-saving on the heating load characteristics of central heating systems was studied based on the present development of central heating metering technology. The study was promoted combined the theoretical analysis and questionnaire survey. At first, the influence factors of behavior energy-saving were analyzed. Then the questionnaire survey about the present situation of behavior energy-saving was carried out and the basic heating modes of heat users were summarized considering on heating mode, habits and customs and the family structure characteristics. The concept and mainly form of behavior energy-saving and behavior energy-saving rate of central heating system heat users were clear and definitude by study on the behavior energy-saving rate. Thus it has good coaching and promoting effect on the development of behavior energy-saving.

Abstract: Qinghai province is one of the important provinces in the development of the western region. It has a continental plateau climate and is extreme cold in winter. There are many local heating modes. Based on the field investigation, this paper presents six heating modes, independent stove, stove Kang, stove heating system, heated Kang, passive solar house, active and passive integration solar house, and compares their advantages and disadvantages. The heating information presented in this paper is significant for the development of heating, and has reference value for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) engineers.

Abstract: Low energy high current pulsed electron beam (LEHCPEB) is a fairly new technique for surface modifications, including hardening, alloying and formation of metastable phases as well as improvement in wear and corrosion properties. The present contribution gives some new insights on the microstructure modifications encountered at the top surface of HCPEB treated metals. In particular, the potential of the technique for structure modifications associated with the use of the pulsed electron beam under “heating” and “melting” conditions are highlighted.
