Abstract: IEC61850 uses the abstract communication service interface (ACSI) and specific communication service mapping (SCSM) definition method. Most of data structure and communication service are mapping to Manufacturing Message Specification (MMS), but MMS has high abstraction, many 61850 ACSI services are mapping to one mms service [6]. At the same time there are many fuzzy definitions even mapping deviation phenomena, different vendors may have inconsistent understanding to the standard, this is harmful to the interoperability. This paper provide analysis and comparison to the 61850 ACSI services mapping to the MMS read, including GetDataValues, GetDataSetValues, GetBRCBValues and so on, and based on these, firstly gives implementation using the mms-ease lite of SISCO Company and detailed explanations of actual telegram. Our research is helpful to eliminate understanding difference and achieve interoperability. System test uses multiple popular software of different company to simulate as server, and the widely used network protocol analyzer software Omicron IEDScout is used to capture packets, the result verifies our implementation satisfy the functionality and interoperability.

Abstract: The concept of smart substations has been widely used in power systems. Since the variation in interfaces and communication manner, the operating& maintenance methods for smart stations have changed a lot compared with the traditional substations. In this paper , a training system based on virtual substation primary equipment combined with real secondary devices is developed for accident management and operating work in smart substations. The training system is also used to test the relay protection algorithms、Ethernet switch functions、fault recorder actions ,and so on.

This paper is based on the study of the IEC 61850 standard, and information on major transmission lines were analyzed in detail, in accordance with the standard information of transmission line model based on IEC 61850 was established.

Abstract: In order to switch line protection to bus coupler protection when bus coupler circuit breaker is in place of by pass state for line bay efficially and reliable, according to experience of Chinese substation building. this paper presents 3 switch modes. At last, reference with the habits of Zambia , this paper presentsone better mode for Zambia substation through comparing the effectiveness and reliability of the 3 switchmodes.

Abstract: The sampling based on process bus is not widely used in smart substation because there are still some technical problems on synchronization, the design of network architecture and sampling data receiving and processing areas. There are some researches about the problems are carried out, but they only focus on part of them and cannot give the whole solution. In order to improve the reliability of network sampling, a new system method which includes all the segments of the sampling based on process such as the synchronization of data acquisition, data transmission, network optimization and data processing are presented. In the data acquisition segment, the synchronization based on IEEE1588 is provided, In the data transmission segment, a new hardware architecture which is based on FPGA+DSP+VxWorks is described, in the segment of network optimization, the topology structure and virtual LAN are suggested. At last, the automatic resampling is proposed in the data receiving and processing segment. It will be useful to improve the reliability of sampling based on process bus in smart substation.

Abstract: The merging unit is used to realize the digitalization and sharing of the data of process and is widely used with the electronic voltage transformer (EVT) and electronic current transformer (ECT). As the construction of smart substation which is presented by the state grid company of china, a serial new requirements and needs about the merging unit are proposed and the merging unit which only sends the sampling value can not meet it. The new demands of the smart substation are analyzed, The design of hardware and the implement of the function are presented. The multifunction which including the model of sampling, the data catenation, the acquisition of status signal through GOOSE , the voltage parallel and switching and the synchronization of device are analyzed in detailed. At the end, the function of intelligent diagnosis and debug is introduced. The device has been used in the project of smart substation and takes good effect.

Abstract: The main purpose of this paper is to study the communication protocol IEC61850 (Communication Networks and Systems in Substations) to develop of practical fast transmission modes in direct trip schemes, using communication functions to implement protection, control and condition monitoring functions under IEC61850 protocol to complete devices data integration in substation automation system. The way of direct trip schemes can provide fast communication speed to stable power system operation in case of suddenly events occasions. The messages interchange via GOOSE (Generic Object Oriented Substation Event) application is based on the IEC61850 communication protocol to implement fast direct trip modes. It is found that the interaction communication of direct trip schemes among various protective relays can be achieved by the IEC61850 protocol based on GOOSE application to approach system stabile operation under occasionally events.

Abstract: The IEC61850-based digital watt-hour meter is different with conventional meters. The testing method and equipment for conventional meter is no longer applicable for digital meters. A newly designed tester for digital watt-hour meter is presented. The hardware structure and working principle are described. The test has traceability to the conventional standard meter. The tracing test result shows that the tester has accuracy grade of 0.05%.

Abstract: The intelligent electronic device used for transformer multi condition monitoring platform was designed based on IEC61850 communication protocol. Based on the analysis of condition monitoring parameter, the overall program and module function were elaborated, the function and design method of signal conditioning module, data acquisition and transformer system, threshold setting were discussed in detail. The intelligent electronic device platform can realize comprehensive monitoring of multi state parameters of transformers. The monitored data will be uploaded automatically in case of the monitoring parameters overrunning. The platform is of a high degree of intelligence, good reliability, flexibility, versatility, and scalability.
