Abstract: In the paper, a series of Na2O-CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 system glasses following similar compositions to the soda-lime-silicate float glasses and possessing more excellent physi-chemical properties were prepared with different Al2O3/SiO2 ratio. The structure of glasses have been studied by IR and density tests. The investigation of Al2O3/SiO2 on the performance was carried out by bending strength tests, linear dilatometry and chemical durability tests in aqueous and alkaline environment. The results showed that the number of no bridging oxygens decreased with increasing the Al2O3/SiO2 ratio, the glass network structure and density increased, which leading to enhance the bending strength, thermo-stability and chemical durability of glass.

Abstract: To study the possibilities of volatilization in the asphalt pavement during service process, this paper presented an experimental investigation in the laboratory-based environment by simulating the circumstances of Infrared (IR) and Ultraviolet Radiation (UV). The Vacuum (Va) condition was also conducted to discuss the possibilities of volatilization in the asphalts. The changes of asphalt mass, chemical compositions and viscosity were conducted to analyze the experimental results. All the results on the circumstance of Va, that the decrement of asphalt mass, the decrement of light components and the increment of VI values, indicated that there may exist the volatilization in the asphalt. Different trends between IR and UV with asphalts demonstrate that the volatilization is affected by asphalt species and environmental conditions. In addition, ultraviolet radiation may take a vital role on the volatilization of asphalt.

Abstract: Cascade grinding mode is often applied to prepare Slag-Fly Ash Based cementitious materials with high volume of fly ash and slag and less cement clinker. This process has low water requirement and well fluidity, which is suitable to prepare HPC.When the W/C is 0.36, the 28d compressive strength is 58.93 Mpa, 28d flexural strength is 14.26 Mpa. By X-Ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis the results show that main materials in grinded sample are well activated by mechanical force and chemical action; more Aft are produced and observed in 3 days hydration products and the great amount of C-S-H gel has continuously generated with the growth of hydration time. By Infrared(IR) analysis, the results show that in the hydration products, the network of Silicon Oxygen Tetrahedron and Aluminum Oxygen Tetrahedra have depolymerized significantly; in the hydration process and various raw materials mutually promoted each other to accelerate the hydration reaction. The hydrates and paste structure of slag-fly ash based cementitious materials were explained.

Abstract: A series of Ir-supported catalysts were prepared by incipient impregnation method. The activity of Ir catalyst for the simultaneous removal of soot and NOx in the presence of rich-oxygen and H2O as well as SO2 has been studied, and the effects of calcination temperature, calcination time, calcination atmosphere, loading, carrier and precursor on its catalytic performance has also been investigated. Ir catalyst exhibits a high activity. With the calcination temperature increasing, Ir catalytic activity increases firstly and then decreases, and the optimal calcination temperature is 900°C. With the calcination time prolonged, Ir catalytic activity also increases firstly and then decreases, and the optimal calcination time is 3h. The optimal calcination atmosphere is 1.5vol.% H2/N2. Support material and precursor have a little effect on the catalytic activity, and the order is Ir/TiO2 > Ir/ZrO2 > Ir/SiO2 > Ir/Al2O3 > Ir/ZSM-5 and IrCl (CO)[P(C6H5)3]2/ZrO2 > H2IrCl6·6H2O/ZrO2 > IrCl4·4H2O/ZrO2.

Abstract: The homogeneous rare-earth catalytic system was used to initiate the polymerization of isoprene, and a novel IR was synthesized with high molecular weight and narrow molecular weight distribution. According to the self-developed rare-earth IR properties, a study on IR and IR/NR blend was made. The effect of JiHua rare-earth IR on the vulcanization characteristics and dynamic properties in IR/NR blend was investigated and compared with IR (SKI-3) synthesized with titanium catalyst system and rare-earth isoprene rubber (SKI-5) made in Russia. The results showed that JiHua rare-earth IR to be developed independently was a novel synthetic rubber with excellent comprehensive performance, and it can be used independently and partly substitute natural rubber to make tire. In the IR/NR blend, Not only vulcanization characteristics and the safety in operation for NR was greatly improved, But also dynamic properties of vulcanizates such as dynamic cutting resistance, abrasion resistance, wet-skid resistance and aging resistance were improved to different degrees. These properties reach or surpass the level of the foreign similar products like Russia SKI-3 and Russia SKI-5.

Abstract: Based on the gas tungsten arc welding process this paper investigated the welding temperature field measurement and simulation of 945 steel plate and AZ31B magnesium alloy, using a non-contact and fast response measured temperature method-Infrared Radiation (IR)-which utilized the baffle to remove the arc and hot tungsten electrode interference, the top-face temperature of AZ31B magnesium alloy plate and 945 steel plate. The results indicated that the lengthwise isothermal map of 945 steel plate is much longer than that of AZ31B magnesium alloy plate, which leads to the most temperature field information loss, this is because the thermal conductivity of steel is small and decreases with temperature increase, the thermal conductivity of AZ31B magnesium alloy is much bigger that that of the 945 steel, about 1.5 times of 945 steel, and increased with temperature increase. Abstract: SnO-B2O3-SiO2 glass powders, in which the different contents of SnO and B2O3 were 35% ~ 70%wt and 26% ~ 61% wt respectively, were prepared through high-temperature melting, water quenching and Ball milling. XRD showed that the performance of forming glass was very good and the range of extension was very wide. The effect of the contents of SnO and B2O3 on Tg, acidoresistant and density of prepared glass was studied. IR showed that it generates the heavy metal oxide generated glass. The density of glass powder decrease with increase of B2O3 content, but increase with increasing SnO content. SnO-B2O3-SiO2 glass had excellent chemical stability. Differential thermal analysis (DTA) shown that, with increasing SnO content, glass transition temperature first lower and then decreased.

Abstract: Extraction of total flavonoids from red kidney bean was studied by combination method of microwave and light wave radiation without solvent. Heating the sample for 8 min with power 800W (microwave 55% and light wave 45%), the total flavonoids were extracted with ethyl alcohol.The extraction ratio of total flavonoids is 1.04%, that is close with that of corresponding conventional extraction process. This method had many merits, such as simple, rapid, low cost, etc. Extraction mechanism was investigated preliminarily with high magnification fluorescence microscope FM, IR. It indicated that improvement of extraction efficiency of secondary metabolite is possibly because that plant tissue cell structure was changed by microwave.

Abstract: With AlCl3 and FeSO4 as the major raw material, the preparation process of a new high polymer flocculant-polymeric aluminum ferric sulfate chloride(PAFSC) was researched, to offset the polymeric aluminum and the polymerization iron flocculants’ lacks, and draw their strong points. The product was characterized by Al-Fe-Ferron timed complex colorimetric, IR and XRD methods, to study the flocculant’s morphological characteristics. The results show that The PFASC, with better coagulating property than the market PAC, has higher contents of Alb and Al-OH-Fe bond, and the introduction of iron restrains the forming of Al-OH-Al.
