Abstract: Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) imaging is a new kind of imaging technology that has developed in recent years. This technology has many advantages such as noninvasive, small volume and so on, but there are also many shortcomings such as imaging quality is not high, in order to improve the image quality, image processing methods is used in this paper. Significant different with the traditional method, empirical mode decomposition method does not require any prior basis function. It is an adaptive time-frequency analysis method. The two-dimensional empirical mode decomposition algorithm is adopted to process EIT images in this paper, and the compactly supported radial basis function interpolation algorithm is used for the post-processing of three organic glass rod EIT imaging. The image is decomposed into six IMFs in the experiment, some IMFs contain useful information, and the rest of them contains a lot of noise. The experimental results show that this method can significantly improve the EIT image quality.

Abstract: A strain measurement system for fiber optic is established based on digital image processing techniques. The hardware of the system is consists of a light source, optical fiber cable tensile equipment, CCD camera and image acquisition card. Hardware equipment was selected by the technical requirements of the system, such as measurement accuracy, velocity and so on. The software of the system, including image acquisition module, data processing module, edge detection module, image measurement module and image storage module, is designed.

Abstract: The excessive tool wear always has a great influence on the machining accuracy in micro electrical discharge machining (micro EDM). According to the image processing on the image of tool electrodes, the contour information of the worn tools is obtained, and then the tool wear, especially the tool shape change in micro EDM is studied in this paper. Firstly, the Canny edge detection method is used to extract the outline image of the tool, the scatter points of outline image are curve fitted, and the mathematical description of the tool outline is presented. And then though the mathematical analysis of the fitting function, the tool shape change and tool wear law of micro EDM are analyzed. Finally, according to the curvature changes of fitting curves, the end wear, corner wear and side wear of cylindrical electrode in micro EDM drilling and micro EDM milling, respectively, are divided reasonably based on the analysis, and the amount of each kind of wear is quantitatively estimated.

Abstract: This paper Study problems which based on lifting wavelet transform image processing. Coding and decoding a complete digital image by using W97-2 wavelet basis wavelet transform, combined with the embedded zerotree wavelet coding and binary arithmetic coding, and complete a lossless compression combined with the international standard test images. Experimental results show that graphics, image processing will come into a higher level because of wavelet analysis combined with image processing.

Abstract: This paper presents the developing of a low-cost eye-tracking system by modifying the commercial-over-the-shelf camera to integrate with the proper-tuned open source drivers and the user-defined application programs. The system configuration is proposed and the gaze-tracking approximated by the least square polynomial mapping is described. Comparisons between other low-cost systems as well as commercial system are provided. Our system obtained the highest image capturing rate of 180 frames per second, and the ISO 9241-Part 9 test performance favored our system, in terms of Response time and Correct response rate. Currently, we are developing gaze-tracking accuracy application. The real time gaze-tracking and the Head Movement Estimation are the issues in future work.

Abstract: According to the infrared image noise interference serious and low signal to noise ratio characteristics, an image mosaic algorithm based on pulse coupled neural network is presented in this paper. The algorithm uses the PCNN imitation of biological vision to extract edge information, adopts the Hausdorff distance as the registration similarity measure, afterwards, computes the optimal registration parameters, simultaneously, uses the weighted average fusion method to achieve image mosaic. The experimental results show that the algorithm can achieve precise image mosaic and have better robustness to noise.

Abstract: Roller-mark is a common problem in offset printing and its solution method is important for printing. A new detecting method of texture analysis was given in this paper. In this study, printing image was acquired with high-speed CCD. Compared the difference between printing image and standard image, a defective image was obtained. Then the reason of roller-marks was given by the texture recognition of defect image. Finally, experiments were taken to prove the feasibility and effectiveness of this new method for the roller-marks diagnosis in the offset printing machine.

Abstract: Many bridge authorities have implemented Bridge Information Systems (BISs) or Bridge Management Systems (BMSs) to effectively manage their routine inspection information. The success of a BMS is highly dependent on the quality of bridge inspection outcomes and accurate estimation of future bridge condition ratings. To ensure such successful outcomes, a BMS must (1) contain reliable, consistent and accurate condition data from routine bridge inspections; and (2) encompass reliable deterioration modelling that overcomes the shortcomings of a lack of historical bridge inspection records. However published literature demonstrates that several limitations exist particularly in terms of inconsistency of inspection outcomes due to subjective judgment. To minimise such limitations, this paper presents a feasibility study for the enhancement of the current visual bridge inspection method using optical image processing techniques. The development work consists of image processing and knowledge-based approaches. It is anticipated that the proposed method is capable of minimising the shortcomings of subjective judgment on condition rating assessment and providing cost effective solutions to bridge agencies. Ultimately, the proposed bridge inspection methodology can provide consistent and accurate evaluation on the condition states of bridge elements. This in turn will lead to more reliable predictions of long-term bridge performance.

Abstract: Particle morphology which affects the packed state of particles is a factor that cannot be ignored in the study of gradation model. Floating beads, as the most commonly lightweight additive used in cement slurry, are always regarded as ideal spherical particles, thus the effects of its circular degree on close packing are overlooked. In order to quantitatively characterize the circularity of floating beads , based on image processing methods of powder particles, combined with image processing software(Photoshop and MATLAB), replaced the watershed segmentation method with removing linking particles, the calculating method of the circularity of powder particles was put forward, and finally the average circularity of floating beads was obtained (about 0.929<1). Although floating beads have high spherical degree, they still aren’t ideal spherical particles, so their morphology feature should not be ignored in the study of particle size distribution.

Abstract: In this paper, we design and implement a system of QR Barcode Recognition based on the mobile phone. This system is based on image processing, consists of image capture model, image pre-processing model and decode model. We propose a new adaptive local threshold method for non-illumination of QR image. The experiment result shows this system is very effective on iphone mobile.
