Abstract: The technology of industrial machines continues to develop rapidly, especially in the main drive system such as the pneumatic system which is widely used in industrial machines. This must also be balanced with the ability of students to solve their problems. The pneumatic drive system is basically a device that converts air pressure into mechanical work that helps the operating process of industrial machines. The purpose of this study is to design machine components, create a pneumatic work system simulation tool, create a pneumatic system simulation tool to test the tool. The creation of this Pneumatic System Simulation tool is one effective way to help students understand and master the work system and repairs on industrial machines. There are three stages in this research, namely literature study, design and planning, and tool making. The test results show that the pneumatic system simulation tool can work properly and there are no leaks in the valve and air duct. The test is done by applying air pressure from the compressor. The pressure is applied gradually starting from 5 bar and increasing until it reaches 7 (bar).

Abstract: The Danube River is the most valuable ecosystem in the European natural environment. One third of the surface of the basin and half of the length of the navigable course is found on the territory of Romania. The paper aims to identify the sources of pollution existing on the Romanian sector of the Danube and the effects produced by them with an impact on altering the quality of the Danube water. The data submitted are prepared on the basis of information made available by the Territorial Administrative Units having jurisdiction sectors of the Danube River and observations, records existing in the databases of the competent authorities. Thus, the Danube is a waterway, a source of drinking water supply for the population, an important source for the irrigation system in agriculture, a source of water supply for various systems and installations in industry and last but not least, the collector of wastewater from these activities. In addition, the Danube is also the natural habitat for many species of animals and plants. The sources of pollution affecting the Danube's water quality are the most diverse and come from all fields: naval transport, industrial production units, agriculture, human agglomerations. The investments made during the last years in the modernization of existing treatment plants and the construction of new ones in the localities bordering the Danube, lead to a decrease in pollution by treating wastewater collected and processed in these plants. The consistent monitoring and in accordance with the legal provisions in force of all potentially polluting activities, the optimization of loading and unloading operations of goods in the terminals on the Romanian territory of the Danube, the handling and transport of dangerous goods in compliance with the most demanding requirements has led to an increase in the quality of the Danube water, which is of good quality, as appreciated by specialists in the field. The modernization of inland waterway vessels, continuous monitoring of the quality of wastewater discharged by industrial production units, the quality of domestic wastewater from human agglomerations, the consumption of pesticides in agriculture contributed to achieving this quality, among others.

Abstract: Environmentally targeted regulation of material and energy flows in the regional area, which is part of the philosophy of industrial ecology, should be considered taking into account both the welfare of the population and economic interests. Thinking of logistics as the science of managing complex flows in networks provides a scientific basis for logistics and industrial ecology, as well as enabling the movement of resources in socio-economic systems in an economically highly efficient manner. It aimed to achieve the sustainable development goals of industrial systems at different hierarchical levels. These two areas complement each other and create a new integrated development vector for the sustainable development paradigm. In this case, it is very important to understand the concept of management well. Although in both industrial ecology and logistics material flow is studied from physical, environmental and socio-economic perspectives, in logistics it is from physical and socio-economic perspectives. Combining these two components and the foundations of the disciplines will create a new and sustainable basis for policies and mechanisms for the development of regions. In the article, the example of industrial ecology is mentioned as the goals of sustainable development.

Abstract: Globally, the construction industry is a catalyst for economic development. This is because it is the bedrock for economic activities. Over the years, the construction industry has been criticised for under-performing which brings about a decline in productivity. In order to improve construction project performance for infrastructural delivery, there are factors to be considered, inter alia, construction material related factors, construction machinery related factors, and project management related factors. In achieving this objective, a questionnaire survey was expedited to purposive practioners to evaluate the relative importance index of these factors. The paper reveals that in the category of construction material related factors, unsuitable locations for material and late delivery of construction materials topped the list with a MS value of 4.53 and 4.15, respectively; in the category of construction machinery related factors, poor maintenance of tools and machinery and difficulties in hiring construction tools and machinery topped the list with a MS value of 4.54 and 4.50, respectively; while in the category of project management related factors, efficient time management and project quality management topped the list with a MS value of 4.83 and 4.70, respectively. In addition, performance improvement factors were also highlighted.

Abstract: Nowadays, globalisation enables a rapid uptake of the classical manufacturing technologies. In order to remain competitive and fulfil the global trend of reduction of emissions, innovative production processes that reduce the energy and raw material consumption should arise. Semisolid forging (SSF) is one of those techniques with great potential to fulfil those requirements maintaining the high quality of the components. Thus, the objective of this work is twofold: to produce a complex geometry part saving material and energy using the off-the-shelf S48C steel grade, and to demonstrate the capability of the process to produce a pre-series of 250 components without excessive tooling damage.

Abstract: Charge transport is one of the most important phenomena, which directly influences the performance of the energy storage and conversation devices. In this work, the authors provide an overview of various rechargeable energy storage battery chemistries and designs, and discuss the charge transport processes related to power capability of the lithium-ion technology. The load distribution by parallel connection of high power batteries or supercapacitor and high-energy cells is discussed and general conclusions are provided. Thus, the reduced peak power load on the high-energy cells are approved by simulation and experiment in passive parallel circuitry of high power and a high energy lithium-ion cells. The definition and advantages of the earlier deduced electrical loss time are explained. It is shown, that at a constant C-rate, defined as the ratio of the applied current and the rated cell capacity in Ah, the electrical loss time has a direct linear correlation to efficiency, and that the electrical loss time allows a direct power capability comparison of various battery cell chemistries and systems. The power capability, specific energy, and energy density of the industry relevant Li-ion battery cells based on electrical loss time approach are summarized and the following conclusions made. Today prismatic cells reach the maximum specific energy of small cylindrical cells, at the same time showing a little bit better power capability, than the investigated high energy cylindrical cells.
