Abstract: With the development of printing technology, greater emphasis has been laid on environmentally friendly materials. Due to its printability and environmental friendliness, Water-based flexo ink is gradually gaining popularity at home and abroad, and has been widely applied in the field of printing. Different from other kinds of bills, scratch-type invoices have an additional scratch area on the surface, which highly covering performance is required for the ink applied. This paper emphatically analyzes and discusses: (a) flexo water-based covering ink and its application in scratch-type invoice covering region printing; (b) how to explore and evaluate new developed green inks. Compared with traditional inks, the water-based flexo ink is free of emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC), and its popularization might have significant meanings for the environment protection and sustainable development.

Abstract: As printing technology advances, environmentally friendly consumable printing materials have been explored. Water-based ink has become a new research hotspot due to its printability and environmental friendliness. Resin is an important part of water-based ink which functions as the carrier of the pigments. Its performance directly affects the printability of the ink. In order to obtain optimal ink formulation, different resins were applied and tested. This paper emphatically analyzes and discusses: (a) different resins and its performance in water-based covering ink; (b) cultivate an evaluation and rating system of resins applied. The water-based ink does not contain volatile organic compounds (VOC), which makes it to the benefit of environment protection and sustainable development.

Abstract: In order to discuss the effects that cosolvent takes on ink used in water-borne pen performance and quality, select and use ethanol, methanol, isopropanol, Ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, ethanediol and propanediol six common water-soluble cosolvent, using them to prepare the samples of ink used in Water-borne pen, testing the surface tension, viscosity, drying rate and adhesionforce. Select three kinds of cosolvent to carry the formula experiment. The results of the study show that: the ink prepared with different kinds csolvent have different performance. The ink prepared by isopropyl alcohol has good quality performance.

Abstract: To survey the influence of ink fineness on the performance of the water-based cork paper bobbin gravure ink and improve the printing quality of ink, the water-based cork paper bobbin gravure inks with different pigment fineness were prepared and the viscosity of ink, glossiness of the printing proof, the abrasion resistance of ink film and other property parameters were tested. The research shows that the ink fineness has a great influence on the water-based cork paper bobbin gravure ink. If the ink fineness is bad, the ink would have a low viscosity. If the ink fineness is good, the glossiness of the printing proof and the abrasion resistance of ink film would be high.

Abstract: Resin as an important part of water-based plastic gravure ink which directly affect the performance of ink. In order to improve the performance of water-based plastic gravure ink,fixing other components and changing the type of resin to prepare ink. Viscosity of ink was measured. Proof the ink on PET film and the effect of resin on water-based plastic gravure ink was inspected through measuring adhesion, wear resistance and glossiness of the ink. The results indicate that water-based plastic gravure ink was prepared by acrylic resin S-2661D has low viscosity, high glossiness; water-based plastic gravure ink was prepared by acrylic resin 2661-91-3 has better ink adhesion, wear resistance performance.

Abstract: Prepolymer and monomer which are the main components of the UV ink have significant influence on the performance. By changing the proportion of prepolymer and monomer to make the different kinds of UV offset ink samples, the samples’ flow curve, yield stress, curing rate, glossiness, emulsification ratio, solid density and ink transfer rate were tested. And the effects of the proportion of prepolymer and monomer on the performance of UV offset ink were studied. The results show that with the decrease of prepolymer, the viscosity, yield stress and glossiness of the ink were reduce, and the curing rates were more or less the same. The emulsification ratio, solid density and ink transfer rate increased with the decrease of prepolymer.

Abstract: Waterless offset doesn't use dampening solution, so it has the advantage of color saturation that the water offset can not reach. Monomer is an important component of the UV waterless offset ink; it has great influence on the performances of ink. Ink samples were made separately by using different monomers. The flow curve, thixotropy crack index, surface tension, gloss, curing speed and other performance parameters of the ink samples were tested, and the influence of different kinds of monomer on the performance of ink was analysised. The results show that the viscosity of monomer affects the viscosity of ink sample directly; six monomers we used have good curing speed; the lowest surface tension can be got when using monomer with single functionality; and six ink samples have large thixotropy. The result of the compound EOEOEA, TPGDA and TMPTA is 0∶3∶7 by using the functionality design principle.
