Abstract: Life cycle assessment (LCA) can provide technical support for environmental management in China. However, there is no consensus on allocation method in inventory analysis. According to the World Steel Association (WAS), the environmental impact, life cycle environmental load and environmental benefit of China's iron and steel industry should be considerd when investing scrap iron and steel. The results of this study show that according to the different allocation methods, the environmental impact of China's iron and steel industry will be divided into 3 methods: 1) not considering environmental load and environmental benefit of the environment (Cut-off approach); 2) considering the environmental load or environmental benefits (Waste evaluation method) and 3) considering environmental load and environmental benefits (Recycling benefits method). The environmental impact of Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steel billet is raising by using the waste evaluation method compared with that of basic oxygen furnace (BOF), which are all decreased by using the cut-off approach. Recycling benefits method compared with Cut-off approach that the BOF hot rolled steel coil (HRC) environmental impact, the environmental impact of EAF steel billet all decreased, and leading the BOF hot rolled steel coil environmental impact to a larger proportion of the environmental impact.

Abstract: Ironmaking processes take three main forms namely; blast furnace, direct reduction and direct smelting processes. Ironmaking is energy intensive sector as it requires huge amount of natural resources. It is also very important for the worldwide economy where it provides the backbone for construction, transportation and manufacturing. Many factors are strongly affecting the developing of ironmaking processes such as energy consumption, materials costs, and environment problems. These factors should be considered when discussing any new trend for developing ironmaking processes. The present work handles the current status and future of ironmaking processes. The technical and economic environment that motivates the development of these processes will be also clarified. The manuscript is designated to investigate theoretically and practically the possibility of using nanomaterials in ironmaking processes. Nano-sized iron oxides can be considered a promising source for deceasing energy consumption in iron and steel industry. The reduction of iron oxide is the most important processes in ironmaking and usually operated at relatively high temperatures. The nanopowder of iron oxide could be charged to a blast furnace together with the blast, much like the current pulverized coal injection technology. In that case, the reducibility of blast furnace burdens will be improved and consequently the energy consumption for reduction will be declined. Accordingly, minimizing the energy consumption will greatly influence the gross energy consumption of iron and steel production.

Abstract: The iron & steel industry in China is facing a wide range of problems, such as the ill-structured energy utilization and the long production cycle, lead to the high-level of CO2 emission discharge and severely hinder the development of this industry. Based on the current situations of CO2 emission and its regulations in China’s iron & steel industry, this paper identified the underlying causes of difficulties in CO2 discharge reduction as the lack of effective management system and reduction techniques. To explore a feasible strategy and approach for controlling CO2 emission in the iron & steel industry, this paper puts forward suggestions in the aspect of management, techniques and researches.

Abstract: This paper combines energy consumption, carbon emission and financial risk assessment of iron and steel enterprises in China for studying. The financial risk of iron and steel enterprises is classified into five main risks: 1) profit risk, 2) insolvency risk, 3) operational risk, 4) development risk and 5) the risk of carbon emission. The 32 iron and steel listed companies of China are examined to test the applicability of the risk assessment system. The results show that the system can better reveal the situation of financial risk and guard against the financial risk of iron and steel enterprises.

Abstract: Based on the theory of industrial ecology, compared to traditional steel industry production process and analyzing steel production material flow、energy flow and technology flow,we build the steel industry ecological symbiosis network. Regarding the steel symbiosis network as a complex system,we systematically analyze its operation mechanism. Analyzing the symbiosis network from its forming condition,we build the steel industry symbiosis network dynamic mechanism model and analyze the dynamic factors,so as to provide scientific guidance and decision making for the construction of ecological symbiosis network.

Abstract: The problems existing in the development of modern iron and steel industry is analyzed in this paper, and a basic development model of circulating economy in modern iron and steel industry is put forward. There are three basic functions for new generation of circulating iron and steel enterprises include steel product manufacture, energy conversion, and the social waste disposal, circulating economy will become the only approach of survival and development for the contemporary steel enterprises in the future. In this article the design philosophy of the high-efficiency circulating new generation steel plant combine with the design of Shougang Jingtang iron and steel plant is discussed and evaluated. The application of principle of the reduction, reusing, recycling for the new generation steel plant design is introduced and expatiated.

Abstract: In this paper, we find that factors which affect energy consumption are steel ratio coefficient and process energy consumption by analyzing energy consumption of every process in integrated steel works. On this basis we point out the main reason for the high energy consumption of iron and steel industry in China is that integrated steel works examine the production process without system energy saving ideas. Therefore we propose the countermeasures of energy saving in iron and steel industry in China in aspects of energy management and control center, iron-making system, steel-making system, steel rolling system, as well as secondary energy recovery, which is aimed at providing a way for energy saving and emissions reduction of iron and steel industry in China.

Abstract: The environment is a human living space. The harmonious development of the human with the natural environment is the basis for sustainable development. With the improvement of society development and human creativity, environmental pollution and ecological destruction has exacerbated the environmental carrying capacity continued to decline. Accompanied to industrialization and urbanization and society growth, ecological environment continues to worsen. Human existence was under the challenge from the natural world. The obvious contradiction was between society development and environmental protection. Environmental issues were restraining the further development of the global economy.

Abstract: Agile supply chain management is becoming an important subject in steel business management and technological innovation in China. Through researching on agile supply chain management in Iron and steel enterprises, advices and schemes are proposed which will accelerate the development of Chinese steel industry, enhance its market responsiveness and competitiveness, and help it obtains cost advantage. In this work, we apply Service-Oriented Architecture and Web Service technology into the agile supply chain management system in steel industry, and build agile supply chain information sharing platform which is based on Web Service, so the system will achieve data sharing and operation sharing, so as to achieve applications that is cross-platform, cross-system and high multiplexing distributed.
