Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has posed unprecedented challenges worldwide, requiring efficient and effective knowledge management strategies to aid in mitigation efforts. This paper introduced the Knowledge Management Analytic Dashboard (K-MAD) to support decision-makers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers in combating the spread of COVID-19. K-MAD leverages data analytics, and knowledge representation techniques to aggregate, analyze, and visualize diverse information sources related to the pandemic. The proposed dashboard provides real-time updates on the number of initiatives, project catalog, initiatives model, problem-based approach, and the methods, enabling stakeholders to make data-driven decisions promptly. K-MAD incorporates sophisticated data integration mechanisms to gather data from various sources, including government reports, public health agencies, research papers, and social media, ensuring comprehensive coverage and accuracy. The dashboard has a user-friendly interface caters to users with varying levels of technical expertise, promoting accessibility and usability. Customizable visualizations and interactive elements empower users to explore data from different angles and obtain valuable insights quickly. The paper concludes with a validation study, demonstrating K-MAD's efficacy in supporting decision making processes during the pandemic. Knowledge Management Analytic Dashboard presented in this paper offers a powerful and comprehensive tool to support COVID-19 mitigation efforts.

Abstract: Materials and their properties are nowadays mostly represented either in forms of material data bases or digital data sheets. While these are sources of facts about the particular materials, the interconnection between the different materials, their usage and development is still lacking. Besides, the data bases are mostly distributed, run by different institutions or specialized on only one category like metals or polymers. The given article addresses the application of knowledge management in the area of material science and engineering for gathering, representing and distributing knowledge as well as supporting a sustainable material and product development. Sustainability, green engineering and innovativeness are crucial deciding factors for today’s material development and should therefore be addressed and integrated in the scope of promoting innovation in material science. To accomplish the aforementioned goal, a combination of semantic and case based methods will be applied in a holistic concept, entitled MatProSQI. It is thus become possible to interconnect and reference fact or knowledge of materials, like category, property, test results, production requirements, sustainability factors, user feedback and experiences of former applications. In addition to the representation of knowledge, collaboration between the engineers is detected as an essential factor for a steady transfer of knowledge.

Abstract: As the emergence phenomenon reflects the process of knowledge creation. Knowledge Management (KM) technology is naturally taken into account. The characteristic of emergence has brought new requirements for implementing KM. After they have been sufficiently analyzed, a knowledge resource management method based on ontology cloud model is put forward. The method is a set of scientific and effective management solution, which consists of expressing knowledge from emergence, defining knowledge evolution process, and sharing knowledge to promote emergence. This method is a good thought for making use of emergence and good for innovation.

Abstract: Increasing requirements in the field of quality and management standards are the reason why knowledge management is regarded as an upcoming need for the metal processing industry. To fully benefit from the organisational achievements which are knowledge resources, and to meet the expectations of customers, one should think about functional, but also modern, computer system that allows the integration of heterogeneous sources of knowledge. The article describes practical aspects of the codification of metallurgical knowledge for the needs of a system of knowledge integration operating in industrial plants. The article propose successive steps to create objects of knowledge and requirements imposed onto the knowledge engineers. The presented methodology is consistent with the standards of knowledge management in the field of codification, and is based on the latest achievements of information science in the field of formal representation of knowledge.

Abstract: Engineering product development is becoming increasingly collaborative and knowledge-intensive in today’s industry. On one hand, the product development process comprises various tasks that involve extensive knowledge exchange and communication among geographically distributed teams. On the other hand, the product development teams usually reuse engineering knowledge from previous design experience when solving new design problems. Therefore, there is a strong need to capture, store and reuse the knowledge for product development. In this paper, different understanding and classifications of engineering knowledge are presented. Two aims of knowledge management for product development are analyzed. And the researches on the engineering knowledge management are summarized based on critical phases of knowledge management process. Finally, future research directions of knowledge management in engineering are discussed.
