Abstract: Humanoid robot is a type of robot which designed in human-form with the purpose to increase the quality of human life. The key features of humanoid robot are to perform human-like behaviours and to undergo effective interaction with human-operator. Facial expressions play an important role in natural human-robot communication as human communication in daily life relies on face-to-face communication. The purpose of this study was to develop an interactive robot head that able to express six basic human emotions based on Ekman’s model which are joy, sadness, anger, disgust, surprise and fear. The combination of action units based on different control point on robot head was proposed in this study. The new robot head provided with 11-DoFs to perform different expression in human-like way. A survey was conducted on twelve sets of emotion design drawn by using Solidworks. Evaluation had been done on each design for its expression ability and the best design of emotion to implement on the robot head was obtained in the end of survey. Hardware experiment was conducted to control the LCD display and position of servo motor by using Arduino Leonardo as the controller for the robot head system. Additionally, a keypad controller was designed to control the expression of robot head based on the control from user. The controller is connected with LCD display to show the name of facial expression for the learning purpose of autism children. This project focus on the performance test of robot head in term of position accuracy for the 11 actuators used in robot head construction. The result shows that the relative position error for each robot head parts was less than 10% and thus robot head able to perform the emotion effectively. The survey on the recognition rate for each emotion expression was conducted individually to 100 respondents. The recognition rate obtained for the six emotions express by robot head was more than 70%.

Abstract: Liquid crystal display (LCD) is one of the most dynamic electronic products in this century. It has been recognized as a key component of media era, since it has many characteristics, such as a low operating voltage, light volume, and excellent performance of full color display, and suitable for LSI drive and the like. In order to break the limitations of LCD, improve its animation display performance as multimedia television monitor, and strongly simplify the manufacturing to ensure the competitiveness on price, we designed a LCD module with the liquid crystal cell of TD-EDA experimental system based on FPGA, and achieved the control of LCD with hardware description language VHDL in this paper. The validation results of compiled program downloaded on programmable logic devices after compiling and simulating show that the LCD we designed can run correctly and relatively perfectly.

Abstract: Vehicle theft and vandalism is unfortunately an extremely common problem. As our world is modernizing, the ways of thefts are also changing and are becoming more and more sophisticated. Our project features an anti-theft system for wheels and rims. Moreover, the overheating and further bursting of the wheels has also been a major issue which has been worked over in this project.

Abstract: Liquid crystal displays (LCD’s) are continuously coated with some chemicals in the clean room of a factory. Spreading of these chemicals is causing serious problems both in controlling clean room quality as well as to the workers inside the factory. It is required to alleviate or properly control the offensive odor which is mainly composed of propylene glycol mono ethyl acetate, novolak resin and photo active compound. The control strategy employed is to bleed the offensive odor gas out the cleanroom. A full scale 3D CFD model was created with anisotropic porous media, chemical species transport with no volumetric reaction, and thermal diffusion with propane gas (tracer gas) to simulate the odor spreading. A segregated implicit solver with standard k-ε model is employed. The detailed CFD analysis made it possible to develop an effective method of ventilating the coater room and optimizing their capacities.

Abstract: In order to satisfy the personalized design of modern electronic products for LCD system, the transplantation technology is applied in this paper, which is based on STM32 MCU and the application of emWin graphics library. According to the function of the superiority of STM32 MCU and emWin graphics library, the hardware is designed, and the transplantation of emWin graphic library is finished on STM32 platform for the LCD display system. The LCD display system that has good practical effect is verified through practical experiment, of which results show that the LCD display system is steady, reliable, and friendly to the users.

Abstract: According to the requirement of real-time detection system towards acquisition, storage and display of video data, a design method of video acquisition system based on FPGA is put forward. With FPGA as its core controller, the design presents a simplified video acquisition system to achieve standard video images. The design elaborately illustrates key points of video acquisition system, thus the acquisition, storage and display function of real-time video can be technically realized. In the end, the validity and reliability of this system is verified through simulation under Modelsim circumstance combined with online logical analyzer.

Abstract: As a digital input device, the current LCD writing board is widely used. Taking the MSP4 microcomputer with 16 bits bus and FLASH memory as the core, a high-resolution PCB coordinate positioning system is designed and fabricated. The simple handwriting input device is fabricated with the PCB common copper clad laminate of 10*15cm. Due to its material, such input device can form a small resistance array, so it will involve a problem about how to select the measurement methods of the small resistance. Through many repeat tests of various experimental schemes and the high-precision A/D sampling, the voltage signal transmit from the resistance through the instrument transporting and filtering is indicated on the LCD12864. And through certain approximate algorithm and data processing, the contact coordinates of the digitizer pen can be indicated in real time, and you can also draw simple graphics through the system. In addition, the system is characterized by high resolution and low power consumption.

Abstract: Glass from computers’ LCD monitor screens were recovered, ground and used as filler for Polyamide-6. The composites contained 10 wt% of glass particles. Two particle sizes were tested: glass particles smaller than 106 μm (ABNT#150 sieve) and smaller than 53 μm (ABNT#270 sieve). The filler was evaluated by loss on ignition and the composites by tensile strength and Izod impact strength. The morphology was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The value of Young’s modulus of composites processed with glass particles smaller than 53 μm was higher than the one for PA-6. The properties of impact strength, tensile strength, and elongation of PA-6 were reduced with the addition of filler, and the composite containing glass particles smaller than 53 μm showed the lowest reduction in mechanical properties (about 6% in the tensile strength and about 48% in impact strength). The micrographs of fracture surfaces of tensile strength specimens showed weak adhesion particle/matrix and uniform distribution of the particles in the matrix, especially in the composite with finest particle sizes.

Abstract: The better appearance of LCD rare earth polishing powder, the better sales. High-performance polishing powder for LCD was synthesized by using NH4HCO3 subsidence method, with rare earth carbonate as starting material. Coloring mechanism of rare earth polishing powder was studied by using TGA, XRD and so on. Color of rare earth polishing powder was quantitative described with the values of L, a, b, R, and chemical composition had a great influence on it. The result showed that Ca, Mg, Zn, Mn, P, Fe, Cu had a great effect on the white color of rare earth polishing powder, and the color had regular changes with chemical composition, calcining temperature, calcining time. The result can control production of rare earth polishing powder based its color, and it has significant practical value to color control of rare earth polishing powder.
