Abstract: This paper demonstrates applications of LabVIEW in automatic test measurement of fiber optic system.First,the LabVIEW applications in fiber optic system and the basics of instrument connectivity are presented.Then,the aspects of hardware communication to external instruments through GPIB and serial interfaces are analyzed.Next,self-calibrating automated characterization system for depressed cladding applications is demonstrated utilizing the LabVIEW’s GPIB interface. Results of the manual and automatic measurements and the analysis of the measurement trace obtained from the optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) are shown.In the end,two applications of LabVIEW in fiber optic sensor system are discussed.

Abstract: It has a wide range of applications in the field of domestic, meanwhile Laser Ranging has great competitive power comparing with microwave and other medium for distance measurement. At the same time, high range of frequency, data collection and processing pressure are then increased. In this paper, it puts forward a kind of Laser Ranging Controlling System based on Virtual Instrument. Using self-controlling infrared high repetition frequency laser as sending and receiving unit of the system to improve the accurate collimation and anti-noise capacity, march the alternate orientation gate .Taking usage of FPGA board as the core cell to handle large amounts of data collection in high speed. Choosing Labview Programming environment to proceed signal feature extraction, gating and storage efficiently.

Abstract: Aiming to improve the efficiency of access to remote database in the virtual laboratory design, the paper analyzes features and shortness of the LabView to have access to remote database and elaborates methods and programming model for LabSQL to implement database access and proposes the integrated application strategy of the LabSQL toolkit and ADO technology. Combined with a network virtual laboratory’s application development, the paper provides access steps based on LabSQL database and virtual laboratory’s design process and it is proved that the program is easy to implement and easy to use.

Abstract: An expert testing system of elevator control cabinet was developed based on LabView, for resolving the difficulties on elevator testing and elevator fault troubleshooting. With fault tree analysis algorithm, manual knowledge obtaining method was used, and forward reasoning strategy was employed for locating the possible reason of the system fault quickly and exactly. The system was modularized to reduce the complexity of the program. The graphical interface was programmed by LabView to improve human-computer interaction ability. The results indicated the expert system can be applied to system fault detection well and improve the efficiency of elevator troubleshooting.

Abstract: In this paper, an automatic testing platform was developed. A complete charging and discharging cycle for the series-connected lead-acid batteries is carried out by the testing platform to record the capacity, charging efficiency, and other relative data of the batteries. A microcontroller unit (MCU) is used to replace the common DAQ card for cost reduction. The voltage and current of the batteries are sampled by the MCU and saved by the software LabVIEW on the personal computer. The charging and discharging procedures are automatically switched by the software LabVIEW according to the state of the batteries. A complete testing data can be provided by the LabVIEW at the end of the testing cycle. New and old battery modules are both tested with the proposed platform and another reliable testing system to evaluate the validity of the proposed system.

Abstract: Motor plays an important role in industrial areas. It is necessary to get the motor parameters and performance indicators by a series of experiments before they are used. For motor test hardware platform, a software based on LabVIEW is designed. It has an easy-operating interface and makes an experiment easy and automatic. Experimental results show that the software has good practicality.

Abstract: Several methods that contribute to connecting SQL server database with LabVIEW are listed and compared in the paper, while the method of using LabSQL is exemplified to show its convenience and reliability. Two steps are required to achieve the connectivity between database and LabVIEW via LabSQL: First is setting up an underlying connection between database and LabVIEW through ODBC. Second is using SQL statements to realize specific database operations such as query, insert, delete etc.

Abstract: To detect interharmonics whose amplitudes are often small, a detection method based on ANF and interpolated FFT is proposed. In the method, the parallel structure of the ANF (adaptive notch filter) is firstly used to detect the fundamental and harmonic components, in which the fundamental frequency signal with high amplitude is detected with the main ANF and then the measured base frequency is output to sub-parallel ANF structure so as to extract the harmonic components. Then a separated interpolated fast Fourier transformation (FFT) analysis of interharmonic components will be effectively completed without the influence of the fundamental and harmonic components. A detection platform based on the proposed method is implemented in LabVIEW. The results of simulation and experiments show the effectiveness of the method.

Abstract: For the specific requirements of power quality in the process of oil exploration,this paper designs a distributed intelligent monitoring systems,including oilfield power quality monitoring center and single oil well monitoring terminal.Among them,Single well terminal hardware is composed of high precision meter chip ATT7022C and ARM9 processor, it can complete the accurate measurement of the electrical parameters.The monitoring center is designed with LabVIEW as the carrier of the power quality comprehensive platform.Using ethernet for data transmission between the terminal and monitoring center. The results show that the system is comprehensive, it can effectively detect multiple power quality parameters and harmonic variation of the grid side,and also can provide technical support for oilfield power quality monitorng automation.
