Abstract: The research study employed the method of lifting to design a cassava lifting unit and its performance was evaluated using the power-take-off (PTO) of the tractor at 540 rpm speed and transmitted via the reduction gearbox of ratio 19:1 then to the driving mechanism (chain and sprocket) which drives the lifting discs to perform the third stage of harvesting cassava. The field test was conducted at the Federal University of Technology, Akure Ondo State. Nigeria teaching and research farm with one variety of cassava (sweet cassava). The tests were conducted at 1m interval spacing to evaluate the effect of different levels of parameters on the performance of the implement. Forward speed, depth of cut, and soil moisture content (clayey-loam soil) were the parameters that varied. The harvester was operated at forward speeds of 2.0 km/h, 4.0 km/h, and 6.0 km/h, depth of cut 30 cm, 32 cm, 34 cm, and soil moisture content of 15 %, 17.5 %, and 20.15 % (wet basis) using a moisture meter. The parameters kept constant were, soil type, variety of cassava, and lifting speed. The field capacity or harvesting rate which is the area harvested per unit time was also measured. The lifting efficiency is high at an optimum moisture content of 20 % wet basis. The optimum forward speed and depth of cut for an efficient lifting of the cassava was 4 km/h and 34 cm at 60 % moisture content and soil penetration resistance was taken on the first day twice (morning and evening) at different depths. The final reading was taken three days after which rain had fallen. The increase in lifting efficiency and percentage of tubers harvested was 75% at optimum forward speed and soil moisture. Thus, the result showed that there is an improvement in the harvesting approach and method. Keywords: Cassava, Harvester, Lifting, Unit, Optimisation, Optimum. Abstract: This article provides a brief review of a reconstruction of the railway bridge in kilometer 3,668 of the railway-track Prague Bubeneč – Prague Holešovice. Specifically, the object is a 10-span reinforced-concrete slab bridge of spans app. 10x 20m carrying two railway-tracks. The reconstruction comprised of a superstructure waterproofing replacement, reconstruction or replacement of cornices and bridge seat at abutment O2 and replacement of all bearings and expansion joints. The bridge’s operation had to be maintained during reconstruction so replacement of bearings and expansion joints was carried out on an uplifted superstructure. Reconstruction of upper part (cornices, waterproofing and expansion joints) was conducted transversally by halves of bridge so operation was maintained at least on one of the railway-tracks.During the process, after consulted with SŽDC, some technical aspects of the original technical documentation from 2008 were changed according to an actual in-situ conditions and contractor demands. These changes involved a design of new cornices and a significant reduction in a number of temporary supports so the structures had to be analyzed for the temporary construction states again. After completing all works on bridge deck and enabling operation of both tracks, the bridge reconstruction continued with reconstruction of the superstructure’s bottom face and existing parts of substructure including building-up of new pile caps.

Abstract: The truss is widely used as a loaded platform in many fields and industry. The structure strength and stability analysis on the truss is researched under the operation of lifting in the paper. Firstly, the additional water gravity load is considered and calculated, which cannot be pushed out of rods during the process of lifting up from deep sea. Then the finite element model based on ANSYS/WORKBENCH software platform for the truss is created, and the boundary conditions and payloads are set into the model. Lastly, the structure strength is checked and the stability analysis is proved based on the FEM method. The results in the paper verify effectively that the strength and stability of truss under the lifting operation meet material and structure performance requirements, thus the research in the paper is of significant reference on the safe service and engineering application for truss.

Abstract: During the process of grid structure lifting, the bearing capacity of some bars may overrun, because lifting point bears the main gravity of whole grid structure and the overall stress of grid structure changes [1]. Taking a steel grid structure lifting project as an example, this thesis analyzes the bearing capacity and stability of bars in the lifting process by MST software modeling. Besides, strengthening methods of bars are introduced.

Abstract: Mechanical lifting garage is designed to achieve a variety of vehicles parked automatically and scientific storage storage facilities. Because the traditional design need one drives for each plate, it waste energy and increase the cost. This paper introduces the course of development of the lifting garage, status and various types of three-dimensional garage features. Then it takes two floors with five parking spaces lifting garage as an example, describing the working principle, the mechanical analysis, the main connection point of framework, and the driveline design. The design innovative use "one drive for multi-plate", reasonable design to achieve the lifting of the garage and pan. In addition, in order to ensure the safety of vehicles and personnel of the design also incorporates the gantry fall protection and other safety devices.

Abstract: Abstract: The Qionglai stone archway and stone screen wall are located in Tiantai Mountain, Sichuan Province. Due to the impact of the 5.12 Wenchuan earthquakes, the stone archway began to subside and tilt. The maximum settlement of the two columns in the northeast was 60mm and the vertical deviation was 42mm.The main ridge of the roof which was badly damaged was out of joint and began to fracture, shift and fragment. Other part also got damaged in varying degrees. Due to the special geographical environment, large-scale machinery cannot be put into use. Thus, we can only use small equipment and labor, take advantage of pulley block and set up a steel hoop to improve pillars with jacking and corrective method. At the time of repairment, it should follow the principle of "repair the old as not to change the original appearance" and use the original materials and follow the original process as much as possible so that the stone archway and stone screen wall can be in the original shape.

Abstract: With the winch widely used in the construction machinery, The people put forward the higher requirements to the technical indicators of winch system. According to the basic requirements of the winch system, the body member and transmission scheme of winch are detailed built. Then, by the AMESim software the simulation model of winch is established and solved on the static balance in order to simulate the actual operating system. As is demonstrated that virtual prototyping tends to be stable after thirty minutes.

Abstract: Many cities in China are being supplied with natural gases from different sources including PNGs (Pipeline Natural Gas) and LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas), critical attention should be paid to natural gas interchangeability problems. In this paper, the applicability of Weaver Indices for Chinese natural gas interchangeability prediction has been discussed. Experiment with 17 sets of domestic gas appliances and 11 natural gases about 187 test conditions has been done to analyze the interchangeability. It can conclude from experiment results that some sources of natural gas cannot be interchangeable, and Weaver Indices isnt totally suitable to predict lifting and incomplete combustion performance for Chinese natural gas interchangeability. It suggests the limits of Incomplete Combustion JI should be changed into JI0.04 and Lifting JL to JL0.95.
