Abstract: In the control model of the permanent magnet linear motor (PMLM), if the pneumatic cylinder is used to balance the weight, the pressure dynamic variation of both suction chamber and discharge chamber can affect the load force of model. The dynamic model of pneumatic cylinder is analyzed, and the equation of impedimental force caused by the single acting pneumatic cylinder is given out. With the combination of PMLM model, the system’s kinetics equation is established. A modified 3-tier composite control structure based on nonlinear force observer is put forward. The nonlinear part of the system is compensated effectively. The the experiment results demonstrate the practical applicability and efficiency of the proposed method.

Abstract: Precision feeding is essential for micro-stamping, especially in multi-stage progressive forming operations, where necessary feeding rates also have to be maintained. Research in micro-stamping of thinner sheet metals (<100 microns) led to investigations of the performance of existing sheet-metal feeders, regarding their accuracy and repeatability in high speed micro-stamping. The results indicated that the pursuance of higher feeding accuracy and repeatability which aimed at 5-15% of the strip thickness was unachievable with the existing micro-feeders. A new high-precision and high-speed feeder was, therefore, developed for micro-sheet-forming. Initial non-optimized experimental results had showed high accuracy and repeatability were achieved.

Abstract: The study deals with an automation of the metal hammering process by use of a linear motor on the basis of CAD data. Metal hammering is one of a traditional handcrafts and only skilled technician can form objective shape from a blank sheet metal without die/mold. It shall be regarded as a type of rapid manufacturing process that is it can be applied to make small amount of sheet metal part. However, to master metal hammering is difficult because of its intricate forming procedure. In this study, a linear servo hammering system, which developed in-house, is adopted as a good mimic of human hammering operation. We have already proposed a calculation method of form difference between workpiece and its CAD data quantitatively in order to assess how workpiece formed accurately and to identify primary factors for the formability. Previous version of our own developed hammering system could form workpiece without considering temporary shape of workpiece with feed-forward control. The operator had to try several times to obtain optimal hammering condition for different shapes of CAD data. It is one of the major differences in comparison with the skilled human operators do. In the study, the authors improved the hammering system to measure shape of workpiece in hammering process. This modification made hammering process to be able to feedback temporary condition to form more accurately. From the experimental result, robustness of the system performance for input shape, compared with that previous system requires several experiments to determine hammering parameter has been demonstrated.

Abstract: To realize the movement of high-speed, high-precision positioning, satisfy the requirement of the numerical control processing equipment and high precision, based on high performance motion control platform driven by linear motor, an optimized for high performance XY table structure design, the broadband modal coupling modeling and simulation movement, dynamics analysis and controller design, such as content, high performance motion platform organization structure optimization, the global optimization of mechanical system and electrical system. Eventually for high performance sports mechanism design, modeling method and system control method provides the key techniques such as solution, and to develop more high performance motion control of linear motor driven platform prototype machines.

Abstract: In this paper, theory analysis, the MATLAB research and experimental verification about feedforward fuzzy PID control have been performed by combining the characteristics of the PID, feedforward control and fuzzy control. Simulation results show that the feedforward fuzzy PID control could improve the response speed of the system and reduce the tracking error of the system which shows the obvious superiority compared with the PID, feedforward PID, and fuzzy PID. Load experiment for such four kinds of control modes is done on the linear motor platform, and the experimental results show that the accuracy of the feedforward fuzzy PID control is obviously higher than the other three kinds of control modes and the feedforward fuzzy PID control is easier to be implemented. The position error of feedforward fuzzy PID control is changeless during the load change, and the change of the speed tracking error is small, which proves that the feedforward fuzzy PID control is suitable for the condition of load change or the great disturbance.

Abstract: For the contour accuracy of direct drive X-Y servo system is susceptible to changes of the load parameters and nonlinear disturbances including the friction , A quadratic optimal position controller with sliding contour tracking controller based on equivalent errors model is proposed to improve contour tracking performance and the robustness. The position controller is designed by the factorization of quadratic optimization on frequency domain. Based on Equivalent Errors model including the equivalent contour error and tangential error, the contour tracking problem is converted to the stabilization of error dynamic system. Simulation and experimental results show that the effects of nonlinear disturbances are reduced effectively and the designed controller has high contour tracking accuracy and strong robustness.

Abstract: Linear motor is applied in the seismic source system of deep well seismic wave exploration, which belongs to international cutting-edge techniques of the exploration industry. Compared to traditional blasting techniques, the technique has better safety performance and lower cost. It is concluded that the setting basic frequency is a critical factor for start-up force of the linear motor in the seismic source system based on the experiment and relative data. The concept of practical efficiency is proposed. In addition, the performance of the linear motor was improved significantly by analyzing relative data curves between inverter output frequencies, line voltage of the linear motor and the start-up force of the linear motor.
