Abstract: Green chemistry as an interdisciplinary subject which could eliminate pollution from the chemical source, has received rapid development in the past two decades. Numerical simulation based on operational research as one of the common optimized tools, has found a wide application in the environmental issues of green chemistry. In this paper, the development, characteristics and resolution procedures of operational research method were introduced and three typical examples which include the utilization of the waste resources, transportation of goods in clean production, and the utilization of clean energy were analyzed and resolved by lingo software. The results showed that the operational research method is an effective tool to solving problems in green chemistry, with advantages of simple programming, operations fast and reliable results.

Abstract: To properly respond the market trends, the manufactory needs efficient production management. Maintenance scheduling is one of the critical factors to maximize the available machine time in the manufacturing process. Besides, other restrictions should be taken under the consideration, which include: sales forecasting, consideration of inventory level and storage capability for product storage. This paper focuses on using the method of operations research to replace the manual process of production scheduling.

Abstract: At present, there are many problems existing in railway stations, such as excessive numbers and over-crowded layout, which seriously affect the scale benefit generation and rapid expansion of rail freight capacity. Aimed at these problems, a Mixed Integer programming model is proposed. Taking Lanzhou train operation depot for example, applying lingo software, the layout of freight station is obtained.

Abstract: The design and management of Eco-Industrial Park (EIP) should be conducted based on quantitative analysis. In this paper, A model for EIP decision is developed. Industry ecological chain is introduced into the model, so that the decision in the course of EIP design and management can be formulated as an assembly line balance (ALB) model. It is easy to use, modify, reuse the model, and can be used as the optimization models in EIP decision-making or choosing members. A case study of a prototype EIP in Harbin City in China is illustrated. Two scenarios are studied. The ALB model is solved by LINGO software.

Abstract: Aiming at spring in pre-positioned fixture of shaft pressing and assembling machine subjected to alternating load and impact load, high working frequency and easy to fatigue failure, to guarantee spring service life and make the fixture more application scope, a multi-objective optimal math model had been established in this paper. In the model, spring’s basic structural parameters are used as design variables; strength, stiffness, and spring index and so on are used as constraint conditions; spring fatigue strength safety factor and volume are used as objective functions. And the model had been solved by using the unified objective function method and LINGO software. The example operation result shows that optimal spring volume is smaller than one of traditional design. And design purpose has been realized.

Abstract: For the structural optimization of transmission line of steel pipe poles, the structural mass was considered the objective of the economic optimization, the taper of shaft and then the thickness of each wall with the taper of shaft were successively regarded as the design variables, established mathematical modal of transmission line of steel-pipe pole. Various conditions of load calculation were accomplished. Themost unfavorable load condition founded were taken as the design load condition. And LIN-GO is introduced to solve some optimization problems about the design variables. From what has been analysed , it is proved using L INGO on structural optimization of transmission line of steel pipe poles Can significantly reduce the amount of steel used.

Abstract: Material cost decrease is an important issue for industrial factories. Operations Research is considered as a proper means for this purpose. A steel production company as a case study is presented in this paper. The combination of raw material is important in steel production. In the company raw materials are mixed experimentally without attention to cost minimization. After considering the process of steel production, a mix model is determined as a proper model for lowering the cost of production in the company. At first, we study the mix problem. Then, we deal with the quantities of the model parameters as well as a mathematical modeling based on the proper constraints. Finally, the solution to the mathematical model is created by a software .The model solution shows that the proposed optimal solution leads to cost minimization significantly.
