Abstract: English learning is a process of cognition and viewing, listening and speaking teaching is a more practical leaning activity. Multimedia network provides viewing, listening and speaking teaching with an ideal cognitive tool and rich teaching resources. The integration, digitalization andnetworking of online teaching makes the teaching more interactive and caters greatly to viewing, listening and speaking teaching. Thus the construction of the teaching mode—individualized teaching mode, collaborative teaching mode and interactive teaching mode, is essential to viewing, listening and speaking teaching in multimedia network, which requires the change of teacher’s teaching ideas and the construction of the textbooks and the assessments.

Abstract: Web-based technology has been increasingly used in language listening classes. It is consistent with the Constructivism Theories, and it is a big necessity by immersing students in a multi-sensory experience to promote their listening skills and abilities. There are many advantages about the using of web-based technology in the English listening instruction, which can be embodied by creating a multi-dimensional listening environment, stirring up students motivation and emotion, enriching language listening resources, helping students to be effective learners, and facilitating students personalized learning. However, there are still some challenges about the using of web-based technology in English listening classes.

Abstract: According to the topology of Wireless Mesh Sensor Networks (abbreviate to WMSN), and the channel access strategy of alternately listening/sleeping scheme, this paper study a neighbor-based adaptive listening/sleeping mechanism for WMSN. Based on the theory of queuing, the paper designed an algorithm named neighbor-based listening and sleeping algorithm (abbreviate to NLS) which can adaptively arrange the duty cycle of transmission frame. On the account of three typical topology for WMSN and consider the neighbor number of Mesh routers and sensor nodes, the performance of proposed scheme are simulated and studied under NS-2. The study results show that the combination of the WSN and WMN can be constructed to achieve full interconnection of heterogeneous mesh topology network. Application of queuing theory to establish the WMSN network multi-hop data transmission model can dynamically adjust listening time of different nodes. Using NLS algorithm, the throughput, delay and energy-efficiency of WMSN network are all improved to some extent.

Abstract: In classroom, students do more listening than reading. Listening competence is “larger” than speaking. The significance of listening in second language acquisition can never be overestimated. Listening comprehension has been a focus for college English learning for years in China. With the information obtained from listening, learners build up their own linguistic system and are ready to retrieve whatever they want when they speak and write. There are many factors that affect listening, among which materials play a key role in facilitating listening comprehension. In order to achieve the final goal of promoting listening competence, teacher must realize that listening materials should be tailored to the needs of individuals. Based on the exploration of the nature of listening comprehension, this paper verifies the elements hindering learners’ listening competence on the basis of the need analysis and Krashen’s input hypothesis. With a questionnaire conducted at Wuhan Polytechnic University ,and the author accordingly concludes that a feasible materials should meet the learners’ requirements so that the enhancement of listening comprehension can be achievd.
