Abstract: Developing low-carbon economy is an inevitable choice for China. This paper builds an evaluation index system of low-carbon economy and uses the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model to evaluate the development level of China’s low-carbon economy. Then, according to China's actual conditions, some proposals are put forward accordingly.

Abstract: The objective of this study is to explore the potential for electric motorcycles to support a developing Asian city to be a low carbon society. The study surveyed the attitudes of motorcyclists to determine the proportion of motorcyclists willing to use an electric motorcycle and also estimated the reduction of CO2 emission from the transport sector in Khon Kaen city, Thailand. The approach Bottom-Up2 by road network with the transport demand forecasting model and emission factors by vehicle type were used to calculate CO2 emissions for each road link. 16% of motorcyclists currently using gasoline motorcycles would be willing to use electric motorcycles in the near future. To evaluate CO2 emission reduction, the future condition with introduced electric motorcycles was compared to the future do-nothing condition in the same future year. The evaluation result reveals that the electric motorcycle introduction could reduce 2.4% of CO2 emitted by the transport sector from the future do-nothing condition.

Abstract: The objective of this paper is to establish and manage the study group of Thailand and conduct the research activities and create the possible scenario stories of Thailand under the global trend of carbon reduction. The goal of "Balance of Economic, Environment, Energy and Social development (3E&1S) for Low Carbon Societies (LCS)” has been set to be the key decision focus of this study. The tool to handle this future issue is the scenario planning method. This approach is widely applied for exploring the different possible future prospective. Outcome of scenario creation is derived by the brainstorming process from key stakeholders. With the obtained information, the possible scenarios will be determined and can be used as a guideline for policy planning and long-term preparation for economic, environmental, energy and social development of Thailand.

Abstract: This paper arranged as the logistic relations of the evolution history of the city and the reform of the energy technologies, Compared and analyzed the roles and the functions that the energy had played in the socialized process of the city. Point out that the explorations and applications of the new energy technologies will make the ‘Low Carbon Society’ reality, influence the words ‘City, make a better life’ deeply.

Abstract: Low-carbon economy is becoming the main trend of economy developing for all countries. Jiangxi Province has a preliminary basis and advantage to develop low-carbon economy. The developing pattern and approaches of low-carbon economy in Jiangxi province were put forward which includes developing low-carbon industry and constructing low-carbon society. The pattern of low-carbon industries include enterprise model of clean production, industry model of low-carbon industrial, low-carbon agriculture, low-carbon services and eco-tourism, regional model of low-carbon industrial park. The patterns and approaches of low-carbon society include town model of low-carbon operation, the village model of low-carbon construction, residents model of low-carbon living.
