Abstract: This research is aim at developing marble-looking fired clay tile by utilizing waste glass cullet (CGC) mixed up with local plastic clay, sediment soil, and laterite clay. Boric oxide is also used as sintering aid. The experimental formulation is divided into 3 groups (A, B, and C) with 27 formulas. Test samples are moulded at 100 bar by Uni-axial pressing in dimension 50 x 100 x 7 mm and fried at temperature 850 °C. The initial results show that all formulas can develop marble texture and achieve Thai Industrial Standard TIS 2508-2555. Reducing firing temperature to 800 °C is the further investigation. However, formulas consisting 90% glass cullet are not selected, due to difficulty of molding workpieces. The final results of firing 800o C show that formula A6 containing 15% Plastic clay, 85% glass cullet, 2% boric oxide has the highest bending strength and lowest water absorption (<1%). Its properties are similar to formula C6 containing 15% laterite soil 85% glass cullet, 2% boric oxide. They can pass Thai Industrial Standard TIS 2508-2555 Floor Tiles BIb. Analyzing microstructure the fired specimens of these formulas by Scanning Electron Microscope has found glassy phases and dense matrix structures. Furthermore, Nepheline, Quartz, Cristobalite, Wollastonite, Devitrite, and Albite are identified by X-Ray Diffractometer. It can be summarized that marble texture surface fired clay tile can be developed by utilizing waste glass and low cost local materials.

Abstract: In this paper, (Na0.52K0.44Li0.04)(Nb0.86Ta0.06Sb0.08)O3 (LTS-KNN) ultrafine-grained ceramic were fabricated over a low and wide temperature range, by using the nanopowder prepared from a water-based sol-gel method. nanopowders are demonstrated to be suitable for preparing fine-grained potassium-sodium niobate ceramics with desirable properties.

Abstract: A paste with as low as 300°C sintering temperature was prepared by using nano silver particles and nitrocellulose ethyl acetate solution. The rheological and thixotropic behaviors of the typical paste were characterized and their effects on the screen printing ability were analyzed in details. The paste demonstrates a typical shear thinning rheological behavior and thixotropic of pseudoplastic fluid. The apparent viscosity decreased rapidly with the increase of the shear rate. The paste is proper for the manufacturing electrical components at a low sintering temperature as low as 300°C.

Abstract: The effects of ZnO-B2O3-Na2O(ZBN) glass on the sinterability and microwave dielectric properties of Ca[(Li1/3Nb2/3)0.8Sn0.2]O3−δ−0.1TiO2 (CLNS−0.1TiO2) ceramics were investigated . ZBN glass doping can effectively reduce sintering temperatue by 100~150°C. The temperature coefficient of resonator frequency τf increased with an increase of ZBN glass content and sintering temperatue. When ZBN glass of 3wt% were added, the optimum microwave dielectric properties: εr =28.8,Qf =10960GHz and τf = − 7.5×10−6/°C were obtained at the sintering temperature of 1050°C.

Abstract: Preparation technology and sintering characteristics of the CaO-Al2O3-B2O3-SiO2 system glass ceramics were investigated. Results showed that the glass ceramics of this system could be sintered at 850oC; the material has fine sintering properties, outstanding dielectric properties including low dielectric constant (about 4.85, 1GHz) and low dielectric loss (about 0.1%, 1GHz). XRD analysis indicated that the crystalline phases in the sintered body are mainly Al5(BO3)O6, a trace amount of SiO2 and CaSiO3.
