Abstract: The examination of the main machining methods applied in manufacturing processes from machine building and based on material removal from workpiece highlights essentially the existence of distinct processes able to generate material. An analysis of certain machining methods able to develop processes of material removal from workpieces was initiated by taking into consideration the principle machining schema and the capacity of generating machined surfaces. One concluded that within distinct machining processes, various phenomena are applied in order to obtain material removal from workpiece.

Abstract: In this paper, we use the finite element simulation method to create a three-dimensional thermal mechanical coupled model that simulate the distribution of residual stress under condition of hard turning GCr15. And twice consecutive cutting simulation are required, then analysised the influence rule of two consecutive machining on surface residual stress distribution. The simulation results were compared with the experimental values, the results show that the simulated values of continuous cutting was very closed to the experimental values and the simulation results showed a certain reliability, the maximum residual tensile stress value increased significantly as the cutting speed increased.

Abstract: This paper attempts to analyze a comprehensive example of innovative design and NC machining. In this example, the designed works consists of three mechanical parts, which are designed in UG system. By the advanced CAM technology of UG, automatic programming is completed. But some NC programs are from manual programming. NC machining technology is used to process the works. The example involves integrated application of 3D modeling, NC processes and programming, and machining technology. The paper focuses on the processing method of the parts, in which the technical difficulties are analyzed and summarized. It can provide valuable reference for the research of NC machining technology.
