Abstract: The paper describes a control and measurement system for controlling and analysing operation of a stepper motor. The system design is based on the concept of virtual instrument, where data acquisition and transmission use standard solutions, whereas software serves both as a generator and a measurement system – an oscilloscope. The generator allows efficient control of motor operation in the following control modes: wave, full-step and half-step control. There were no winding powering sequence errors observed. The measurement system allows presenting and analysing voltage waveforms in individual windings with possibility to detect couplings and overvoltages. It was also shown that it is possible to detect locking of rotor rotation. The proposed virtual instruments have open structure, which enables extended analysis based on available measurements or expand range of measurements as long as measurement and control system instrumentation allows that.

Abstract: In this work, a split transformer topology is proposed for use in a wireless electric vehicle charger. The topology presents desirable characteristics concerning minimization of the air gap, easiness of alignment, weight and cost. Comparison is performed with spiral topologies presented in relevant literature. The coupling coefficient of the system for various air gaps and misalignment conditions is extracted by 3D finite element simulations and experimentally validated by a 3 kW prototype inductive power transfer system. The magnetic field at nominal power of operation is also simulated for evaluation of the compliance to the human exposure limits.

Abstract: The "soft start" problem was studied for magnetic coupling in coal mine by experimental method. At first, the starting condition of magnetic coupling was analysed. Aaccording to the load characteristics of conveyor. Secondly, the torque characteristic curve, speed characteristic curve and current starting curve were plotted using the experimental data. From three kinds of characteristic curve we have conclusion that the output torque and output speed is much less than the input torque and input speed, the starting current value with the load was less than the starting current value when directly connected. That means magnetic coupling with the soft start characteristic.

Abstract: The paper first introduced the magnetic coupling resonance wireless power transfer system principle, the coupling model theory, etc. Through matab program, the paper could get advice system parameters according to the specific load, the needed transmission distance and transmit power of the system. These parameters give guidance to the system design, which is verified through examples.

Abstract: This paper presents a magnetic coupling for a large-sized mixer, which is separated by a vessel wall. In order to improve the transmission-torque, the magnetic material attached magnetic-flux concentrated surface permanent magnet (MCSPM) arrangement is applied to the magnetic coupling and the construction is optimized. The results show that the MCSPM arrangement is very effective to improve the air-gap magnetic flux density and the transmission torque even quantity of very few permanent magnets.

Abstract: according to the requirement of designing the magnetic sealing drive, the magnetic sealing drive torque design and calculation is completed. It is also analyzed the magnetic circuit and the whole structure of the drive. The matching problem of magnet thickness and arc length of magnetic pole surface is analyzed. The research also includes the method to calculate torque of combination of push pull magnetic circuit and method of its power matching calculation and correction. The magnetic sealing drive is tested and the results show that the design of the magnetic sealing drive complies with the design requirements.

Abstract: An alternating high voltage amplifier with four output ranges of 60/120/240/480V at power frequencies based on magnetic coupling and feedback compensation is presented. It is designed for calibration purposes. By the use of high quality transformers, a precise feedback loop and an error-correcting amplifier, a high gain stability and excellent performance over time is achieved. Its measured gain stability of amplitude and phase are within  0.2 V/V and  0.2 rad respectively over hours with a very low total harmonic distortion (THD) of 0.0022%.

Abstract: Transmission performances of some squirrel cage magnetic couplings, which were different in magnet pole number, slot number, slot depth or slot area, were tested. Experimental results and analysis indicate that these parameters (magnet pole number, slot number, slot depth and slot area) all affect transmission performance of a squirrel cage magnetic coupling. In these factors, deep slot can not only increase slot area to improve a squirrel cage magnetic coupling’s transmission performance, but also can make skin effect on conducting bars more obvious to further improve the transmission performance. Therefore, slot depth affects transmission performance of a squirrel cage magnetic coupling greatly. The experimental results show that a deep slot squirrel cage magnetic coupling’s transmission performance is much better than a common one.
