Abstract: The work is devoted to the numerical analysis of connections of light frame elements in the Sunday system technology. The analyzed technology is described, which in the light of the requirements in terms of structure mechanics as well as more and more stringent energy efficiency is an economical and effective solution. Complex numerical calculations require the introduction of appropriate input data to create computer models. In order to perform the simulation, the influence of the adopted schematic characterization of the material on the course of the stress-strain curves obtained by numerical analysis using the Ansys Reaserch 2021 program based on the finite element method was presented. The authors described the procedure for performing numerical analysis, taking into account material nonlinearity. The material models used for this type of calculations were also noted. On the example of a connection of elements of a light frame structure, the influence of the adopted material characteristics on the result of the obtained numerical calculations is presented.

Abstract: The paper focuses on the assessment of cast-iron columns in industrial heritage structures. For cast-iron structures it is difficult to verify metallurgical composition and processing technology, which directly affect the geometry of cross-sections. The crucial issue of reliability of cast-iron structures is their brittle fracture in tension at higher slenderness ratios. The load carrying capacity of columns is affected by their stability and cast-iron strength in compression and tension. Outcomes of two recently proposed analytical models are compared with extensive experimental data and model uncertainty is quantified. It appears that the model is in a good agreement with experimental data and provides reasonably conservative estimates of load carrying capacity. Outcomes of the study may provide basis for foreseen improvements in calculating buckling coefficient according to ČSN 730038:2014.

Abstract: Quality of recycled plastic is usually below than its virgin material. Status of quality compared to its virgin material quality helps producers and consumers to ensure viability of the material both as a manufacturing product as well as a raw material. A set of material testing result table accompanied with radar chart of its ratios proposed as a tool in representing quality indicator of a recycled plastic. An easy identification of lower and lowest quality and also better quality in certain material characteristics help producers and consumers to make a fast evaluation and further decision related to recycled plastic quality improvement and its proper utilization as raw material.

Abstract: Comparing to ordinary light intensity measurements, polarization measurements have many advantages in studying the surface, atmosphere and exploring space. In order to obtain high-quality polarization information, the paper designs a three-channel synchronous acquisition device. It researches the feasibility of obtaining the characteristics information of material surface by polarization vision. It respectively measures the leaves, automobiles, cement wall these three samples’ reflected light’s polarization characteristics using the method of getting Stokes parameters. The experimental results show that the polarization characteristics have a great relationship with the characteristics of target, the measurement wavelength and the viewing angle. The method mentioned in this paper is vital to achieving material surface characteristics. At the same time , it provides a new way for geology and mineral resources exploration.

Abstract: The development of manufacturing technology is mostly given by economics, environmental trends and the development of cutting materials and machine tools. Manufacturing is a significant part of the worldwide economy. Machining (material removal processes) represents major part of production costs. This paper yield inquiries into the hard and precise milling with a focus on force effects in experimental machining, tool wear and final surface qualities (roughness, micro hardness). The precision machining of hardened steel differs from conventional machining in terms of the hardness of the workpiece materials and the cutting tool materials that are required. Hard materials are characterized by high hardness (> 45 HRC) and abrasiveness. Machining processes require cutting tools of much higher hardness and also higher resistance of the abrasive wear. Recently developed cubic boron nitride (CBN) and coated sintered carbides cutting tools are considered to have the ability of cutting such as steel. CBN cutting tools show good performance during machining of the hardened steel because of their hot hardness and good fracture toughness.
