Abstract: Unidirectional circulation-type material handling system on a single loop with a shortcut is a typical and basic unit in a flexible manufacturing system (FMS). It is widely used in the FMSs. Superposition efficiency of the basic unit often determines the one of the whole system. In this system, a fleet of AGVs circulates along a loop with short-cut unidirectionally. After AGVs load jobs, jobs are sent to process at a processing station set along the path, and then unload at an unloading station. AGVs continue to circulate until all jobs are processed. The AGVs can't be overtaken except in the cross point. So it is difficult to avoid the interference between AGVs. Different scheduling rules have an important effect on the unidirectional circulation-type material handling system on a single loop with a shortcut. To decrease the interference and improve performance of the system, this paper makes a mathematical model of this system and put forward optimal scheduling rules. Experiment results show that the optimal rules can decrease the interference time and improve efficiency, so as to achieve the optimal performance.

Abstract: The efficiency of intra-ship material handling system has a significant impact on naval ship operational effectiveness. Previous ship designs did not consider material handling systems very well. This paper focuses on material handling system as a man-machine-environment system, since material handling issues are global and complex. The methods of analysis and simulation are discussed, which are utilized for the operation process of material handling system. The optimization of operation process, transportation route and arrangement are then summarized. On this basis, the evaluation index system of material handling system is set up using Delphi method.

Abstract: Material supply isthe basic guarantee for the large ship sailing to ocean. In order to improve the efficiency of the supply of the large ship, the support of materials handling system is needed. According to the typical material handling system of the large ship, with the material handlings time shortest as the decision goal and the handling sequence as the decision variable, the analysis and construction of the model for optimizing the systems operation is given in this paper. The improved genetic algorithm is put forward. The specific model is also given and its proved that the analysis and modeling method in this paper can effectively improve the efficiency of the material handling of the large ships.

Abstract: The handling equipment optimization problem of material handling system for large ships is discussed in this paper. The optimization models for two supply ways which includesshore-to-ship and vessel-to-vesselare proposed respectively, which are converted to linear programming problems in order to analyze large ship material supply handling system of equipment optimization.

Abstract: In order to achieve the supply of materials on the concrete mixer assembly line timely and accurately, in this paper, the process, production features and actuality of materials supply on the concrete mixer assembly line were analyzed, the stations of the assembly was combined, and function mode of the storage was changed to active distribution. Then the material handling process was optimized using material handling design system. Finally, the effective implementation of material distribution was ensured based on the on-site management.

Abstract: Aimed at the requirement of a project, a man-machine cooperation(MMC) manipulator was designed based on its system structure and man-machine function analysis. Meanwhile, the system functions were allocated between man and manipulator, and in order to realize information integration in MMC material handling system, a application method of mechatronics was discussed. Then an example is given to express one of the realization methods of information communication between man and manipulator.
