Abstract: The result of the research aims to provide a foundation structure that reduces the amplitude of oscillation of machines and equipment from various technical causes and natural phenomena, preventing resonant phenomena and economical use of foundation material. The proposed foundation, compared to existing foundations, provides a decrease in amplitude and prevents the phenomenon of resonance of vibrations of foundations for machines and equipment creating savings in the use of cement-concrete material. There is considered mathematical, structural, and practical modeling of anti-vibration foundations of mechanical installations in this article. The purpose of the study is to create a foundation design that reduces the amplitude of oscillation of structures from various technical reasons and natural phenomena, prevents resonant phenomena, and economical use of foundation-reinforced concrete material. The research results can be used in the design of foundations of piston machines and equipment used in the oil and gas industry.

Abstract: The mechanical systems consist of assembled parts, between which diverse interactions take place. Tolerance analysis purpose is to study the effects of part geometric deviations on assembly functional requirements. In the current approaches from this field, the part geometrical deviations are toleranced without considering the evolution of the geometrical deviations during product exploitation. As consequence, between two parts identical as type but with different values of their geometrical features, inside the designed tolerance zones, any difference is made despite they might have significantly different life cycles or manufacturing costs. This paper presents a new conceptual approach concerning parts tolerance design, based on a new criterion, namely the dimensional quality, defined by two important features: life cycle and manufacturing cost. The main issue of this approach is the optimal relation between the manufacturing tolerance zones and the acceptable functional deviation domain. The new concept implementation is sampled in the case of an articulated arm.

Abstract: The contribution solves the effect of the construction, operation and excitation asymmetry of the simple spatial model. The model can be used for simulation of the vibration of the vehicles (road and rail). The solution was performed by experiments and numerical methods. The mathematical model was developed to reliable describe the experimental simple spatial model. The model was verified by experimental results.

Abstract: Fibres, cables and wires can play an important role in design of many machines. One of the most interesting applications is replacement of chosen rigid elements of a manipulator or a mechanism by fibres. Dynamic behaviour of fibres in simplified mechanical systems was investigated. In the first step the computational investigation of a fibre dynamic behaviour in the system of an inverted pendulum attached to two fibres and driven by them was performed. Then experiments and computer simulations with two simple laboratory mechanical systems followed. The first system consisted of a weight moving on an inclined plane and of one fibre, the second one contained a drive and a pulley in addition to it. The results of experimental measurements serve for tuning the computational models. The simulation aim is to create a phenomenological model of a fibre.

Abstract: Ambient Assisted Living is an important subject to be explored and developed, especially in developed countries, due to the increasing number of aged people. In this context the development of mechatronic support systems for bedridden elderly people (BEP) living in their homes is essential in order to support independence, autonomy and improve their quality of life. Some basic tasks as eating, taking a bath and/or hygiene cares become difficult to execute, regarding that often the main caregiver is the other element of the aged couple (husband or wife). This paper presents the conceptual design of a mechanical system especially devoted to assist the caregiver in the handling and repositioning of the BEP. Issues as reducing the number of caregivers, to only one, and reducing the system's handling complexity (because most of the time it will be used by an aged person) are considered. The expertise obtained from the visits to rehabilitation centers and hospitals, and from working meetings, are considered in the development of the proposed mechatronic system.

Abstract: The interaction between vibration and friction exists widely in the mechanical system. In order to research the effect of the vibration amplitude on the contact point friction in the mechanical system, a new apparatus is developed independently to measure the point contact friction influenced by the changing amplitude. The data acquired through the apparatus show that the friction at the contact point decreases with increasing of the amplitude. In terms of theoretical analysis in this paper, the increasing of the amplitude actually reduces the contact area at the point. In addition, the friction at the contact point is proportional to the contact area. So, the friction decreases with the decreasing contact area caused by the increasing amplitude.

Abstract: Lifting system is widely applied to different range because it is quite convenient and intelligent, such as high-rise buildings. In order to improve the reliability and equipment working efficiency of the automatic control system, programmable controller (PLC) as the core controller is properly used during the control system design in the paper. Through the mechanical working method, the software control is used instead of more complex relay-contactor control which can greatly improve the mechanical failure inspection and maintenance convenience.
